What is really needed is an easier to drive version of the Susvara, a Susvara-HSE (for High Sensitivity Edition), if you like. Actually, I do not care how it ultimately gets called, provided it offers Susvara-calibre SQ, without the need for endless discussions and considerations of Volcano or Nuclear Reactor calibre headamps or speaker amps, most of which never seem to be optimal, depending on who is talking...
A Susvara that is easy to drive! Now that would be quite refreshing, won't it?
I have found that for the most part when it comes to planars the more difficult to drives models are the most discerning...I do think you give something up to make it easier to drive IMHO

Yup, Susvara is what it is for a reason. It was meant to be the TOTL product so it might take a while for HFM to scale it down and land a 'Susvara JR' or something, of course if it ever happens. It might not.
The most annoy part of this hobby is looking for the the right combination that synergizes the best with each headphone. For many, that's part of the fun, but it sure wastes a lot of time and money. I think it's great if the manufacturer gives out a set of recommended amps for something like Susvara. It doesn't help that Hifiman makes their own amps (EF-1000)
to pair with Susvara, but it's way overpriced for what it is. I don't think anyone should need to resort to driving headphones through speaker posts even though we have all been down that road.

The issue with that though is that different people like different combinations. So, what person X thinks is the best, person Y may completely disagree.
It does waste a lot of money trying new stuff out. You can sell equipment you no longer want, but you are still going to lose money.
I think that if you do not have access to a HiFi store, it’s best to find a reviewer that aligns with your tastes.
Every piece of equipment I own now was bought blind. I’ve definitely bought and sold a bunch of headphones and amps, but I’m very happy with my current setup (though I am looking to continue to improve).
Taking advice from people and reviewers I like really helped

Ha that's something I will let you guys do, I will just read the results. I guess I don't have the time or money to go through multiple amps to find the right one for one HP!
the truth is everybody hears things differently which is why there is no objective best....some peoples hearing is far better than others or some people like or dislike different types of music which may sound better or worse with different equipment etc.....
For such a premium product and packaging, the lettering on the metal name plate was a completely amateur job.
Crooked and unaligned letters and words, poor kerning spacing between letters. I don't even know how you could do such a poor layout job if you're using standard software. Seriously, they should redo it, and it would take just 10 minutes for someone with graphics experience to do it right.
Honestly, I was going to go with the He1000se, but again this morning I’m worried that I won’t be satisfied. And I want the Susvara. Crap, I hate this part of the hobby. I wish I could afford both without being kicked out of the house. Lol.

I know the itch. It's difficult to settle for less knowing that te 'more' option is and will be out there. I'd save and snatch Susvaras if I were you. One thing is that these cans are awesome. And the other, well, you'll buy them anyway
It is quite unusual going this route, but on the upside stereo amps good for Susvaras can be had for far less than headphone amps. The more I connect my Susvara to different amps, the more I appreciate this possibility. Still the best transistor amp for them I was able to find is still very expensive :/
As human beings we hear quite similarly, but the difference is in how we interpret what we hear. That's where it gets a bit messy and our hearing related hobby leaves this door open wide!
actually we all hear differently based upon age and hearing abilities....some people have acute hearing and some have lost hearing over the years etc.....just like people have different vision ability....a person at 60 will not hear music the same as a person at 20 etc...one person may listen to a HP and hear details that another person simply cannot hear and make completely different judgments

Yes, age of course factors in, but what we meant was general. We have to hear the same things or we wouldn't be able to i.e. communicate, understand each other etc.
