Anyone in here switched from a Stax X9000 to the Susvara? Why?

FWIW I went from a Bliss KTE to an Envy for my Susvara and have never looked back, I have owned many combinations of equipment and for me this is the best synergy I have been able to attain. Each time I sit down to listen, it feels like a special occasion, as it should do. I have the Performance edition Envy with Full Music tubes. I was looking at changing out the Susvara cable for a TOTL offering, but in terms of improving the sound I should probably focus my energy and finances instead at looking into Elrog tubes upgrades. This is my first tube amp, and so I am yet to hear first-hand the difference that tube-rolling can make, but the Susvara/Envy feels very much end of the road for me in this avenue of my journey so tube-rolling is something I would
Do you use any power filter/cleaner in your setup?

Nope, just a regular 4-gang extension socket. All ears, if you are happy to provide a little info as this isn't an area I have considered at all.

How come no one talks about Takatsuki? These power tubes are special, rectifier as well. Maybe they are not compatible with the tube amps of susvara owners. They are expensive but worth it
Lots of talk of Takatsukis in threads for amps that use them. Their 2A3 is the premium tube of choice in DNA amps.

I don't know how their 300B stacks up to WE's, but I think most people with a 300B amp would more likely go for the brand with the long heritage.

It can be a killer of dynamic range, could loose a little bass. But in some setups it provides a clean detailed sound. Kind of like a haze beeing lifted. Sound gets little brighter in some setups compared to wall outlet. I’ve only used isotek Aquarius and furutech flux 50. Now I’m struggeling between choosing Aquarius power filter or just using chord signature power cables straight into wall. It’s not a huge difference between the 2 options.

^ i would think that someone who can afford a 'million dollar setup' can also afford effective room treatment for it
You would be surprised...as some people with such finances to spend on such luxury items as uber-hifi systems are just plain ignorant of such facts !

Dam EF1000 is perfect with SUS. Gonna save up for this amp.
Of course it is....it was re-designed and re-built by Hifiman specifically for the Susvara !

I did not care for the EF1000 when I auditioned it. So for me, HM-1. If you want tubes I would go Viva first ( well heck, I use them in my 2-channel system so home dog preference ) or Riviera. Envy might be of interest as well.

Please use mine or anyone else’s thoughts as an addition to your audition list. Please always try to audition yourself.
I demo'd the Viva Egoista 845, Felix Audio Envy and the Riviera AIC-10-BAL (all with stock tubes connected to a Chord Dave) with the Susvara, and to my ears I preferred my EF1000 (also with stock tubes and connected to my Chord Dave) ! If I hadn't have bought the EF1000, out of these three I would go for the AIC-10-BAL, although I would need to demo the Trafomatic Primevera too (which I am guessing would be better than the AIC-10 BAL and maybe as good as or even better than the EF1000) !
