HiFiMan Susvara

I feel the AHB2 is somewhat "overpriced", in that u can now get really amazing class D purifi amps for half the price (and less). unless of course the intention is to buy into neutrality and a solid company with good reputation.

also, I also feel the Ferrum stack is a bit overhyped. yes, it is good for what it is, but what it is is a sub 2k amp hooked up to a nice power supply. don't get me wrong, I do like my ferrum stack and it serves its purpose ie quick no frills listen, sounds good, clean, and not needing to wait for tubes to warm up etc. but what it isn't, is end game, especially when susvara is the headphone. it does colour the sound somewhat and on that note if I was going for coloured and musical, I actually enjoy the Milo Reference more than the ferrum stack.

as usual, above are my opinions, for what it's worth and ymmv.

I know what you mean I am using the CFA3 now with my susvara and it is marvelous...the power and control is difficult to describe and I loved my bakoon 13r with it already....
Lol

What would you say are some differences between the CFA3 and the bakoon (positive or negative) would be with hard to drive cans like the susvara?
the cfa3 is a bigger soundstage and the bass hits harder...the 13r is a sweeter sound is marvelous as well

I wonder if anyone has compared 2 different CFA3 units? I wonder how large any potential unit variances could be

What about the quality of detail retrieval, the presentation of treble- and midrange response, the placement of instruments, their separation, layering, and the air one perceives around them?

The difference are voiced in the midrange/treble with different output devices. They're all specced to the GRLV power supply.

The same as with the SuSy Dynahi.

Did Hifiman say this works with the Susvara?
From looking at the picture, looks like only the oval shaped drivers like the HE1K, Arya, and Ananda.

I can take one with the Susvara if needed but here's the Shangri-La Jr (same design and ear cup style) on it to give you an idea:

Call me old fashioned but I like to hang my cans on a stand of some kind.

Not for me. Those magnets draw cooking oils and smoke - it fouls them (all Mylar speakers and headphones). Hanging them about for company or verification of one's wisdom in such a purchase (directed at all that are effected not you) puts them in a position for these problems. I desire a pair greatly. I would protect those amazing cans myself. Airtight box (not the HFM box) or at least a ziploc gallon bag closed as tight as possible. I wish I had pics of my fouled M-L and Magnepan speakers to show.
