Changing the game

The R2R2K nails the presentation, smooth and dynamic, best described as liquid as the music flows to you...

Respect due to a true rock & roll star who lived his life as it unfolded and never looked back. This album on R2R2K....

I know that firmware updates increased the song limit that the R2R2K can detect, but did any of them update the maximum micro SD card size that works with it? Is it still limited to 256GB or could I go to 512?

Don't know TBH as my R2R2K has a 256 card, with the 512 cards being installed in the SR25 & WM1A. Maybe Hifiman can answer via their support channel.

You could, but given the minitations of the R2R2K UI and navigation approach why would you? Scrolling through a 128GB card takes long enough...I'm also a touch concerned at the longevity of micro-sd cards - I've had some crap out after three years. Rebuilding a 1000 album card would not be fun.

Solid points. 256gb is plenty anyway. Maybe you (or someone else) can also tell me, what’s the deal with Eco Mode? What’s being sacrificed? Maybe I just have garbage ears, or maybe I’m just experienced enough to articulate what I’m hearing (or not hearing), but apart from the difference in volume, nothing immediately stands out.

Don't know the specifics, however I rarely use Eco Mode as sounds like the dynamics are reduced as well as power which would make sense to conserve the battery. Nor am I concerned with battery life as I have a small powerbank with the pretty much the same footprint of the R2R2K, so can easily double the runtime :)

Does someone want to sell it? Pm me
Taobao is your best bet, however the supply is drying up fast. Likely the secondary market is the best option, however the pricing will escalate as the R2R2000 was never produced in significant numbers.
