Where did you get that info?

@i2ehan: So why exactly did you prefer the RE252 to the 262 and 272? I personally consider the latter two superior sound quality wise, but I didn't spend much time with the re252s.

It may just be that they'll discontinue it after their current stock sells out.

It looks like a sane business move imo

The 252 , as good as it is , never got big commercially due to most of all fit issues and i am sure now these don't sell like hot cakes

The 272 looks like an improvement , and at 250$ is at the same price range

I really liked the 252 when i had it and i am sad to see it go , but life goes on etc etc

Bring on the 282 !!!

The fit issue and the weird design is why the RE252 is not a hot cake seller for Hifiman.

I achieve a really good fit, but when I smile, the sound changes a tiny bit, and I haven't noticed that on other IEM's hahaha.

The RE242 was just released.

I find the number choice kinda funny because there's an old band from the 80's called Front 242..........

So, gr07 goes for 30-40$ cheaper than the 252

does this justify buying the gr07 instead of the 252 ?

I apologize if this has been discussed already, but I contacted HiFiMan directly, asking why the RE252 was discontinued, to which they replied it was because the housing didn't last too long. I hope that means we'll see a revamped RE252 some time in the enar future, as it's my absolute favorite HiFiMan.

I may be interested to try them again if the housing gets updated. I think they should just use the RE-Zero/RE0's housing, perhaps in chrome? Better yet, use the Xcape v1's tapered housing. That's  a beautiful and comfortable design.

There have been several complaints about the RE0 housing falling apart, there's also an IEM that looks identical to the RE0 that sells for $1.50.

If they put the RE252 driver inside the RE272 housing, use 7N silver cables, and sell it for $129, we have a winner.
