Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

updated impression from my friend:
"he1000 v2 stealth indeed more speedy, more punchy, but the soundstage much smaller, and the relaxed sound on the original he1000 v2 is just gone."

I like he likes relaxed sound very much, if you are relaxed person, this stealth one might be not for you.
The relaxed sound of the OG HEK V2 is what set it apart from the HEKse's. The change to stealth magnets on the OG V2 seems likes it moves the sound closer to that of the HEKse's.

I did not find the V2 to be relaxed at all.
I wouldn't have thought of that word to describe the character of these headphones. Much more I always found him to be very much alive, with the magic ability never edgy, or seeming sharp.
(As I said, always with Oratory setting.)
He already has spikes at 3.5.7 kilohertz, as far as I remember correctly...🤷🏽‍♂️

Seems like the common trait with Stealth magnets, Arya was the same, so was HE1000SE.

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about this...The relaxed sound and big soundstage is my favorite trait of HEKV2.

I was really close to trading in my Arya V2 for Stealth version but am so glad I didn't. The V2 just has perfect balance for my taste.

Guess I'll just have to wait and try it for myself...🤷🏻‍♂️

HEKv2 is relaxed in relation to the HE-1000SE, both also softer and of course more relaxed in relation to a 4/6-screw HE-6

How is the sound stage compared to Arya (did you have V2 or Stealth?) and HD800s?

I sold the (Pre-Stealth, I think it were the OG with mesh) Aryas early '21, so I know them only from memory. But I'm very confident that the HEKv2 Stealths soundstage is noticeably larger than Arya. The HD800s remains king of soundstage, though. But the HEK Stealth is the closest I've ever heard.

If the soundstage of the HEKv2 Stealth (which I am listening to as I type this, just shortly after listening to my HD800s) is really MUCH SMALLER than the v2s, the V2s soundstage must have been even LARGER than the HD800s one. Really, I'll need to find an old v2, will anyone sell one to me? The soundstage must be to the moon and back!!!

Sorry, but your friend is probably dreaming.

actually, that's one of the proudest parts of he1000 v2 fans, if you're familiar with the excited impressions since 2016, but you can't argue with the hd800-soundstage-king fans

some call the Susvara soundstage much bigger than the hd800, some call it really small

my dealer told me Susvara will be updated next year, not sure how they changed the things, but the only thing he can be sure: the price will be increasing.

take care of your wallet if anyone gonna aim for new flagships
Yeah that was certainly the area the Susvara was lacking /s

I love HE1000V2, on technicalities it kills everything I've tried.
The only competing peer IMHO is HD800S (HD800 SDR in my case), it's like slightly less detailed (softer) version of HE1000v2 with more natural, warmer (yes I said it) timbre.
For the price especially I just can't think of anything that can challenge it. Especially when you factor building a system, you can get an Ares II/Soloist and still be

My favorite soundstage was Arya Steahlt.
The soundstage of the HE-1000V2 is a bit too diffuse for me. Singing touches me emotionally very little...

But for me imaging is more important.
A precise localization gives me the most information about the room.
The Utopia is the leader here.
