Which of the HE6 / HE500 did you install the jergpads on? Or did you do the mod on both? That could have a significant impact.

I don't have any jergpads. I listened to them both stock for the comparison.

I do currently have J$ pads plus retaining rings with some felt/angel hair damping, and an extra set of more open grills that I can put on my HE-6. I feel that does enough without requiring me to start cutting up my pads.

Seems like a great time to mention this since Cante Ista just posted that F3/HE-6 write up.  I'm selling my F3.  Flawless, $1.4K pp gifted and shipped in the CONUS.  Let me know if any of you guys are interested.

What amp are you moving toward next? Also, how would the F3 sound with both the D7000 & HD650? Or what would you suspect?

Never heard the dennons but hd650 should be quite good. I have def experienced the 650 veil others have mentioned and the clean sound of f3 would mate well with it imo. Keep in mind though that this is a speaker amp and u will need to hook up ur cans to the speaker taps to listen.

No amp to be precise Silent One. For a variety of reasons I am downsizing.

Provided the F3 is safe with D7Ks and HD650s, and I would urge those interested to do their due diligence regarding safety, I don't see why it wouldn't sound fantastic, as it has with everything else.

Cante Ista, it is the real deal. No clone.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, if I were able to 'neak past my creditors and out of NYC, I'd mate it to the much heralded HE-6. Was just curious about the rest of my inventory.

This amp you, preproman, Happy Campy and others discuss sounds intriguing. Hope you move it in a timely manner. But if you don't

To the one that is Silent:

MalVeauX is doing a project with sensitive headphones like Denons on speaker amps.  It's very good information.  I'm sure the same can be done with the F3 if needed.  Take a look:

When using a speaker amp its the gain that needs to be looked at.  The F3 is one of the few speaker amps that happens to have low gain, in many cases lower than a headphone amp, which makes it usable for driving headphone.  Speaker amps that run 30x gain though... not so much.
