What does the Alesis put into 50 ohms? On a basic straight line conversion it appears to be around 4 watts. Only slightly more than the Lyr.

I did the math a while back and wuwhere confirmed it: 45 watts into 8 ohms = 7.2 watts into 50 ohms.

Yes it's just doubling and halving as far as I know. 45wpc @ 8 ohms = 22.5 wpc @ 16 ohms, etc.

Note that the above reference is essentially for traditional, solid state amplifiers only.

It's not only overkill Silent One, it's dangerous.  The D7K is a pretty sensitive phone, you don't want the Alesis' 75 watts @ 4 ohms near that thing.

Thanks for making sure that Silent One safely sticks around without forever being.... silenced.

Been looking through this thread.  Boy is it long.  However, Has anyone played with a 4 channel B22 with X8 gain with the HE-6?

Posting since you haven't gotten a response. My Beta's set at 8x gain but is a 3-ch single-ended. I think it's pretty good with the HE6 but its signature isn't ideal for it. Together, they sound a little more distant than I prefer.

Has anyone had a chance to audition the HE6 with the Schiit intermediate amp, Moljnir, as yet? It looks to have enough power plus balanced should make an already big soundstage into something quite special. Fingers crossed. I am also hanging out for the statement amp since it doesn't look that far behind. 2012 perhaps.

I wish someone in Perth had a RSA Dark Star that I could have a listen to also.

Shahrose,

So what would some of the differences be in a 4 channel fully balanced Beta  than a 3 channel single-ended - in sound sig that is?
