Use the Aux input, RCAs. Back in the old days they used to call them Aux In, nowadays its Line Input.

I haven't done bare wiring in a while. I have a cable with spades. Can I cut those spades off, trim off some skin, and expose the copper? I'd hate to pay money if it's that easy.

You think my Opus#2 will work as DAC? It will be easy to get a 2.5 TRRS to RCA cable made. (I shouldn't be spending $2K on a Hugo).

Try the spades first. That's what i use for convenience. TRRS is balanced, not sure how that will work with RCA?

You can do that. The holes are not that big, twist the bare wires before you insert them.

TRRS to RCA should work.

You can also use it just as a power amp. Just remove the jumper in the pre-out/power-in. Then plug your RCA to the power-in. Then control the volume from your DAC.

If it works straight through the headphone jack then I may be sold. I have some very expensive cables that will work right away. I'll go to Austin in person so I'll jack into all of the receivers.
