Used a Lyr, with Valvo Heerlen CCa tubes in it for over a year. I'm currently using a Mjolnir 1. To my ears, the Mjolnir beats the Lyr in every aspect. The Lyr is lifeless, with a much smaller soundstage in comparison. The Mjolnir does bass extremely well.

I also don't have the treble issues that others have mentioned. Not even with the HD800 nor the 700. Which definitely have more treble emphasis than the HE560.

With that said. I think the Mjolnir 1, is fantastic with the 560's, and can be had used for pretty cheap.
Does anyone have experience with more of the Schiit amps with he-560? I can't decide between the Lyr 2, Jot and Mjolnir 1 (second hand). Which has the best synergy with the he-560? I have read some nice words for all of them, but if someone has heard more than one of them with the he-560, I would appreciate his/her feedback. Thanks!

Guys, a quick question. I need something temporarily while I save up for a better amp, and I saw the NuForce HA-200 on Massdrop for $149.99. How well does the HA-200 mate with the HE-560? I doubt I can find anything other worthwhile under $150 to at least show me the potential of the HE-560.

The page says the NuForce HA-200 outputs max 2 W at 32 Ohms.

Regarding the power output, 2W at 32 ohms is a ridiculous amount of headphone power, no way it won't make the HE560 loud enough. Sound-wise, can't comment, haven't listened to that combo.

What do you ultimately want to save up for?  If you plan on buying your ideal amp in the next 6 months to a year, I'd recommend something even cheaper like a Magni 2 or something while you save up.  I also agree with the poster above that the Asgard can be found for about that used.

You might be able to find the Liquid Carbon v1 at a decent price, works well with the 560 (of course,it is geared to be used balanced, so there is a balanced cable to be purchased as well. But I have used mine single ended and still like it that way).

Hi Guys,
I just purchased the he 560. Loved them instantly during the demo. I have a chord mojo and noticed during the demo that the mojo seemed to be pushed to the brink. I would love to know any recommendations for an amp for the he 560. I will be using the mojo as a dac in this case. The other headphone I have is the hd 650 so synergy with both would be preferred. My budget is around 200 usd (new/used amp).
I was looking at the magni 2 uber headphone amplifier for $100 used. any advice would be welcome.
thanks

If your budget is $200 I would wait and save a little more.  The Mojo as a DAC is great but to me it wasn't enough to drive the HE-560 as you also noticed.  Funny that the Hugo works quite well even if its rated the same output as the Mojo, device synergy?

Vali 2 sounds great with both of those headphones. You can still use your Mojo as a dac and have a really nice setup there.

I would recommend a tube hybrid, vali 2 or even a Project Soltsice. If you can hold out for awhile, there are some excellent choices around $350.
