What is a good price for a used he560?

I'd say around the $500 mark with shipping included. There's one on the for sale forums here now for $450+shipping and fees. Seems like a fair price.

Yeah i saw that one. I really want the stand to and he wants 490 for he560 and stand + shipping and fees

I just got mine for around $530. The updated version with way better cables and connectors. I felt that was worth it. OK, you have to figure an appropriate amp as well. I like the iFi iDSD black label. These two together are very nice. But the amp is as much as the used 560s

I didn't dig the 400i at all. Closed in soundstage and lacked image separation, no air, lacked details compared to the 560. But it's all subjective. Some people prefer the 400i presentation. I happen to not be one of them. IMO, the 560 is in a different league.
It seems a bit overpriced to be honest, as you can get the nearly as good he-400i for  a fraction of the cost.

I haven't heard the 400i, but I've heard a well amped 560 & find it hard to believe the 400i could come close to that. Having owned the he6 also I regret selling my 560 because I much prefer the 560's presentation compared to the 6.

The 400i is an upgrade, let alone the 560.

Quick question for 560 owners. Is there anyone besides myself that prefers them without the grills?

I've done numerous grill mods, trying different grills , and cloth such as organza, and cloth less grills.

Every combination seems to close in the sound somewhat. Idk. It seems like the center imaging gets more precise and widens out with instrument placement and the soundstage expands in every direction, especially depth , and the music just sounds more whole, instead of the 3 blob placement. I get more of an open holographic presentation. Bass fills in the image with more articulation, and texture, instead of the center thump.

I felt the same way with the 500's as well.

Just curious if anyone else has tried them without the grills. Takes a bit for the brain to adjust to it. For me once adjusted it's hard to put any grills back on. Lol
