Finally going to a local store to audition the HE500s today. If I like them and all things go as planned, I might be coming home tonight as a new owner of some awesome headphones!!!!

Did you read about some EU minister's idea/proposal to start confiscating savings, a la Cyprus? Here's my favorite headline:
EU commission studying proposal to re-allocate savings of 500 million citizens
Red being mine. "Re-allocate." Ever heard of a thief saying, "I'm just re-allocating your wallet | watch | TV to me." To keep it slightly on-topic, they'll pry my HE-500s from my cold dead hands.

Does this mean that people who are careful enough to save get ripped off? I wonder how our European Head-Fiers feel about this.

I'm not sure even the vaunted EU can get away with that on such a scale, but ya never know. Hard to have a diffuse revolution, so maybe they feel confident in that kind of thievery. That they're even considering it would make me sell my schiit and buy a ticket to anywhere else. Or at least consider it.
Come to the US and get your HE-500s for cheap!!

I'd be inclined to spend excessively on overpriced Amps and DACs rather than just hand my money over. Perhaps I'd be in the HE-6 thread, very soon.

Worse here in the Philippines. Ordered the cheapest headphone stand from woo audio for 50$ shipped. Stand was 35$ usd o believe. I was taxed around 50$.
