HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I just bought the HE-500, it's just that there are new models around the corner (he-560) so i'm not sure if should be happy that i paid "only" 490 € for 3 months old he-500.
But logically speaking new models don't make the soundquality of the older ones obsolete.

For now i'm curious if i will be satisfied with the he-500

The 560 will cost 899 euro probably so it's not a bad deal. I'm sticking with the HE-500 for now anyways!

I think you will be satisfied with the HE-500, they are really nice sounding headphones.  Love mine.   I was recently comparing them to some more expensive headphones and came away realizing that the HE-500's punch way above their price point.  Enjoy!

That looks familiar :D

I have to say personally the WA7 DAC leaves much to be desired. It's not bad, better than Modi, but not as good as my current Audioengine D3. I would say the best thing the WA7 has going for it is that it's future proofed to an extent with 32 bit/192 KHz. My D3 only does 24/96, while downsampling 192 to 96.

Thanks to those of you that responded to my request for killer DAC / Amp combos. Most helpful as ever. Looks like Lyr / Bifrost - suitably maxed out - has gone to the top of the list. Let me know if anyone else has any other suggestions - thanks again.

Awesome. Do share sound impressions. Now I guess you just have to wait for your Blue Emotiva LED Circle.....
