yup yup...can u imagine how i enjoy listening to my he500 for hours on that comfy chair..tuga style...completamente relaxado com uma cervejinha de superbock fria na mao.
biggrin.gif

and guys...this cable is so strong i guess i can use it as a strangling cord for anyone trying to steal my rig
biggrin.gif
oops...so its multifunctional...and so well worth the price
wink.gif

another thing..as the cable is double u have to be carefull not to let it rest to long on ur nipples...as its a bit heavy...but i guess some would specially buy the cable for that then
very_evil_smiley.gif

LOL that's funny. Although I don't suspect any audiophiles doing it because of nipple induced microphonics.

Nice, you got the eye mask thing going on. I've noticed with low to no lighting, the listening experience is usually better. Less stimuli to deal with I suppose. For recliner purposes and far away stations, I suppose a long cable is needed. Currently have a 6 feet + 1 feet adapter silver cable with LCD-3 and the 8 feet stock cable for desk / side stand rig. Might as well get a 10-12 feet next time I order any cable. I'm a little over 6'2'' so the longer the better.

I stole that eye mask from my daughter actually..oopsie..as i found out..as u said also..in dark somehow my ears are picking more of the music up...or maybe its because u relax more and in so are more receptive to the the only other stimulans..the music..

My cable is 8ft..and i guess 1ft extra for the adapter..i had to buy that poof to put the adapter cable on as i hated to have it hanging around in free air and so pulling on the headphone-out of my 337 (those xlr connectors are heavy and so is the adapter cable itself) and didnt want to stress it..

And for me 9ft in total is more then enough to use it comfortably while sitting in my comfy chair. Microphics is non existent..i tried to rub the two cables hard together..nothing..tried to rub all kinds of metals..nothing..this sleeve is good! The standard 4 wire BW i had was a tiny bit microphic when rubbed to certain fabrics (like a fleece sweather) and certain irons (from zippers of sweaters)..but this one..zip.nada..maybe thats the reason why its deader then dead ..no noise..nothing..when the music is between tracks..or when the music stops on certain tracks..u can almost feel the space! ..one time i thought the battery was empty on my hm602... As i didnt hear anything..so i reached for my hm602..but then music started again.and with that mask on its even worse..its like ur in a black hole then.. So eery!!!

Just realised I dreamt about modulors cable at night. Highly recommended from memory! Surprisingly flexible..

Haha, it's coming along nicely.  You can't entirely eliminate the stiffness of the teflon insulation, but the sleeving does help reduce it from tangling up and makes it nicer to hold.  The tighter twist of the wires below the cup connectors removed all that unnecessary microphonics - not sure if anyone else had that issue, but my stock cable was almost completely untwisted on each side before the braid at the Y junction.

All this talk about comfy setups makes me want to buy a new desk chair soon.  Mine is in need of replacing badly...let's just say it was *once* comfortable.  I always have my 'man chair' or 'thinking chair' in my office, but it's too low to use at my computer/workbench desks so it gets far less comfy time than it deserves.

Exactly. Leaving it hanging around in the middle puts so much stress on your cables as well as sockets and connectors of equipment. Seems those cables are working well for you. On a side note, Audeze's stock cable is far better than Hifiman's stock cable if you ever decide to go down the Audeze route. Although I doubt it with your username and all.
biggrin.gif
Maybe one of these days you'll become Hifimansophomore.

Listening in a black room is always better. The absolute best is on speakers when watching movies in a completely dark room and you have no clue where the speakers are located because of how well the soundstage dispersion is. For me that's the best feeling, having real life sound and immersion without having a speaker feel. Kind of like how they say the best pre-amp is no pre-amp. (Okay, I actually don't know if that analogy is even applicable in this case haha)

dont forget..i have the 22awg version...it was first time toxic cables made a cable thick like this in 8 stranded version..its one of a kind..i was his test object....so i guess my price is also one of a kind..as i guess its very labor intensive..everything has to be done twice..so its not cheap...and so i dont know what price he would ask for it to others..i guess u have to ask them nicely
wink.gif

about flexibilty..its perfect...but yeah its heavy...but not thick...as u see on pics its like u have two cables on ur head instaed of one very thick one...but yeah its a bit heavy..but as being double cables..u can hide it under ur coat or something...but u can also get the 24awg version..or a 26 version of one of their silver cables...i didnt like silver on my rig..but i read others love the silver widow with their rig..so i guess its all personal and depending on the soundsignature of the rest of ur rig

as u can see on pic my amp is unbalanced..so i bought a VERY VERY thick adapter cable (BW and also 8 stranded and 22awg) from toxic from unbalanced to balanced (i bought balanced cable as my new amp will be balanced) also...and seeing that thickness...i guess i dont want that thickness on any cable from beginning to end..pulling at ur head and ur headphone..i dont even know if that thickness will fit inside the tiny connectors the hifiman heaphones have...

Not sure that I would like having two cables swinging around instead of just one. Those cables do look nice though.

I don't have a recliner near my rig as I have everything set up at my computer desk. My throne is a Herman Miller Aeron.

Seeing that cool "do not disturb" mask made me wish that some company would sell a lighted sign for hanging outside the listening room.

Make it look like an old "ON AIR" sign that the radio stations used to use, but update it to say something like "TUNES ON". :)

The cca is the basically for " hifi sound"  set up.
It will add the sound depth separation & clarity  &  warmth &
In addition , the bass sound  more controlled .
Do i like it? 110% yes.
Does it bring the best out of my other headphone rig? 110% yes
Does it bring the best of  he500 + lyr  ? Dunno yet. i have yet to try some experiments

Having said that, the sound from he500  makes me smile

awesome thanks. i will get a pair in the future if i end up keeping WA2.

 sorry for the swearing thingie

so here it goes:

edit; sorry for the plastic bag on one of the pics....i use that to put my headphone in after use...as the velours really bugs me as being better in collecting dust then my vacuum cleaner when used!

Always wanted to hear the difference between the Darkvoice 337SE and the O2. Is it worth going from the O2 to the 337SE? What are the differences? Noticeable? Worth 6x+ the price?

Somehow I feel it wouldn't be worth it.

Dont know both amps :D never heard to any of them..
I have a modified 337.from latest batch with the extra condensators in front.... Not a SE version..so i can only talk about that one..so here it goes guys and girls :p

whether the 337 is worth the 4times of the o2? Well... Accepting Higher price is always a personal thing ofcourse..imho...

but what i do know is this..the 337 is not worth it if u keep the standard rubbish chinese tubes...i hated those...BUT..and this is a very very very BIG but..if u get the right tubes for it..it will blow most of amps out of water til the 1000usd mark for the he500 and especially the hd650!!!!.. It did to my ears on a meet i attended last year..it was small meet.. With two stands of agents of lyr, mysical fidelity and burson..and the attendees had pretty good stuff among one having a complete stax rig...one attendee even posted on the thread for the meet that he got tears in his eyes of emotion when he was listening to a certain song of queen on my simple rig... For me thats proof my rig cant sound to bad huh?

Funny was that there was a woo audio owner..and he absolutely didnt like the sound of my amp with the remark..and i quote..ur amp doesnt sound like a tube amp at all :D

well..it happens that before this amp i hated the 'tube sound'.. I was a solid state man..with my matrix mstage that i loved...but With the tubes and everything i bought extra this heavy beast (18kg) sounds like heaven with my he500..its fast and dynamic...but has that special warm touch of a tube.. It sounds much more powerfull then the 1watt mono per channel it pumps out officially..the completely controlled bass really pumps deep inside ur head!! maybe i have an 337 on anabolics? I dont know...from previous owner i heard that it was modified by a tube specialist..even the two on-off switches in front are relocated to the back to minimize interference!...so maybe it has modified power thingies also???? Dont know..or maybe it has to do with my source.. The hm602...i dont use my pc as source..but my battery powered mini gem.

no one here knows (except one) this amp but has their opinion ready saying it cant be good as no one talks about it but me..so some think i must be talking rubbish..

or maybe..just maybe..this could be one of those rare gems u never see..but are golden when u do get ur hands on it.... I know i sound like advertising this amp..but guys..u must know me by now..i dont talk positive bout things i dont like.and am very realistic..am not saying its the holy grail..but under 1000 its an amp for the he500 to try out at least!..

but am also very honest when i dont like something..and more important...why i dont like it!!!..like the he400 or some amps i tried out to buy...but pls guys..try a 337.... Just once... if lots of people dont talk about it doesnt mean its not good...

this amp is not expensive..and okay..u have to invest in tubes and powercords (2x as it has two! And the standard ones are skinny!) and other feet to get rid of the horrible microphics!!!

In total u probably spend around 1000usd on that amp...but to me its worth it... Am listening now to it..rihanna..next sarah brightman ..all flac....am almost having goosebumps...room completely dark..me typing on my ipad..heavenly..and okay..the new balanced cable helps.. :D

In oktober i will be attending the london meet..my rare and unloved amp will be with me...and i invite everyone to listen to it...and i can almost promise u that everyone who now believes a (inexpensive) tube amp cant drive the he500 to highs in soundquality will come back on their word..i believe that deeply in this amp...so ur invited to compare it...scream at it. :D..feel it...and if u love it enough..buy it for a very special price with my favorite tubes in it....as my new (endgame) amp will be coming in november and i want my amp to get a good home and it saves u a fortune in postage :p

Ps..i hate the color scheme of the 337se..gold??? What who came up with that? :D

mine is black on black..simple and classy..the only sexy bling bling are the tubes glowing in the dark as it should be  and when u switched it of..the tubes tick like a switched off engine of a hardriven turbo charged sportscar when cooling down..tick tick tick...love that sound!!!:D

Those velours attract the dust to no end, especially cat dander.  I Scotchguarded mine (when I still used them) and it seem to actually help a bit.

You must love your he500 so much.
Pampering with one of a kind toxic cable.
  Nice pics by the way

Oh stop it you!
