HAve you gotten the HE-300 and compared it along side the HD650?  I just ordered the HD650 but I think I might cancel the order to get the HE-300.  The review also said that the impact isn't as hard as the HD650.  Dos that mean that the HD650 hits harder?  But Im guessing the bass goes deeper on the HE-300? Could you fill us in on this?

HE-300 "warm" sounding? Way to early to conclude, but preliminary I would say definitive "No".

But again, "warm" is one of those terms - "Warm" compared to what / which headphone.

weight and that its closer to the HD600 signature than HE-500. When I had both HD-600 and HD800 I came to conclusion that better technicalities don't mean I will enjoy that pair more.

I have been running pink noise continuously (at a fairly high volume) through the HE-300 for three days. It's starting to bend.

Great!  I'm looking forward to your guys impressions on the HE-300.  I just took the plunge and ordered them last night.  If its true that its more like the hd600 (I've never heard the hd600) Im not sure I'll like them.  I do like some bass impact and warmth.  I just hope it doesn't sound like the HD25-1 ii.  I got rid of those fast, too much treble for my taste.

Well HD600 are warm but don't have the bass punch HE-4 has so if HE-300 is anything like the HE-4 in the bass department then its gonna be the bomb.

I've now gotten over 100 hours of burn in on the broken cable (hung it from high up so both drivers would function). Fang sent me out a replacement which, if according to DHL (it says in Portland, OR and is in transit)  should be here very soon. I have to finish my TTVJ Slim review first before writing this.
