ALSO:
Regarding your comments about tax.  All consumers (with the exception of Aboriginal North Americans) pay taxes at their local state or province level, so your point is moot as any consumer legitimately buying products from the US and having shipped to Canada, pay GST of 5% and the customs & duty.

Fortunately, more than 90% of Canadians live sane driving distance from the border, and do cross border shopping all the time. No tax paid on products you don't report at the border, right?

You get cheap Maple Syrup and free bear attacks. We get expensive Schitt and other puns regarding the excessive UK VAT...
The X and ETHER seem reasonably priced uk side ....8^/
HE560 and 600 are good value but need a big expensive rig and modding skills of inspector gadget....

Might be cheaper to freeze yourself and wait a 100 years....

Bad jokes aside do our dear HIFI manufacturers have a black Friday sale?

I never checked last time. Looking at BLACK HEX Friday deals...

yes Hifiman has a black friday sale, but no mention of the HE-X.

A Hifi retailer to look at would be razordogaudio. They often have nice Black Friday deals. Cheers

That is interesting, the more is the competition the higher are the prices.
In the Headphones world the Up is Down as in a Sparrow movie.

Edition X is up on razordogaudio.com. Brian has been great to work with on several headphone purchases for me.

It seems to me that the HE1000 have the symmetrical magnets structure and the nanoscale diaphragm. Also look to me like HE1000 headband is made of leather and HEX isn't. I'm not sure if the headphones construction is made out of metal or not hopefully it is.

So, to all the people whining that we are inflating the price and all that, hate to say it, but many of us did say the price was already decided at $1.8K USD.

Also, for all the harping about efficiency, why would anybody pay $1.8K use said headphones with a smartphone out? Also, how's an open headphones good for on-the-go? Weird marketing points that no buyer will care about.

Just try to see what is different to make the cost so different. With speakers it is easy to see better build quality and drivers as the price goes up.

I have no issue with the price. Just trying to decide if I want these or the HD800S when it comes out. Figuring I could use HD800 and HE1000 impression to get an idea of how the X would compare to the HD800S.
