Yes you buy the actual cable that terminates in an xlr. You then pick your connection (4.4 balances, xlr balanced, 2.5 etc) that then connects into the actual cable xlr connection. They also have a kit with all possible connections so check that out also.

Thank you so much! Now I understand how it works.

I am also using an IFI product on my Deva's. I am using the IFI Zen Dac and agree with comments about being a great match up. The Deva's are alive and energetic on their own. The Zen Dac is warmer and a little more laid back sound. The combo takes some of the the hot treble out of the Deva's and just enhanced the bass and midrange. I like it a lot.

Thanks. Although we don't have Deva at our office, it's good to know that these cans like ZEN DAC. Thanks for sharing :beerchug:

Exactly! hip-dac and ZEN DAC were designed to be on similar performance level, but one is portable and the other is desktop. You have sharp ears!

Love it so far

Thanks a lot! Enjoy!

New owner of Deva here! I've been using it for about 2 weeks now. Out of the box, the sound is neutral-brightish but I've found that with a little bit of EQ bringing the lows up and the highs down a notch, these sound balanced, musical and just plain fun to listen to. The Deva responds extremely well to EQ, even over Bluetooth. I used to own the HE-400i and HE-500, and the Deva unmistakably has that characteristic planar sound. I would rate the sound quality of Deva somewhere in between the 400i and 500.

I've recently been leaning towards wireless audio gear for the convenience and freedom, and having the full size open planar experience in wireless form is a godsend for me. And the price it is going for is absolutely amazing and unthinkable a few years ago. The Deva is here to stay in my audio collection for sure!

(Also ordered a Zen DAC for the moments I don't mind being tethered to my desk  Can't wait!)

If so many people in here like this combo, it's time to find Deva a home in our office :p
I haven't find more versatile Headphones yet for the price range.

We have many cans nearby, but the more from Deva's price range we have, the better. From this ballpark my all time champ would be HD 600, but it's time to push internally for Devas too :)

And thanks!
