The more connectors and adaptors the more quality loss, important thing is the used solder too.

hi all after much pontification went with audiophile ninja cable balanced 4.4mm for my anandas/ifi diablo combo, will be few weeks for it to be shipped state side but see lot of positive reviews so thought give that a go :)

Me too. But the EQ gives you various different headphones in one. It is a great tool, and the RME implementation in its ADI-2 DAC is magic.

What do have running upstream of the Ananda?
Changing the ear pads (to Dekoni Elite fenestrated sheepskin) and swapping out the cable both brought noticeable improvement for me. Going from the Topping D50s to the E50 DAC brought even further improvement.
The Ananda closer to "just right" for me now.
