I have the Diablo and xcan. There's no difference to me with the Ananda, if I volume match them to any reasonable listening volume. Xbass, 3D and Presence filters, are the big difference
Does the Diablo work with the Ananda on medium setting or you need to use in high sensitivity mode? I had a an ifi IDSD micro signature which sounded very nice on medium and turbo but was annoying due to the volume imbalance at low volumes therefore I was using it most of the time on low power mode but I felt the sound was a bit flatter.

I reviewed it with the Ananda at Eco mode.
I got good pot adjustment.

I find it to be overkill. SE gives alot more granularity.

Out of 4.4mm in Eco mode
10 o clock - 90db
1 o clock - 113db.

Single ended in Eco

10 o clock - 81db
1 o clock - 103db

On my unit channel imbalance ends after 9 o clock ( around what would be 9:30 )

I'm interested in IFI micro iDSD Black Label ... Do you think I would have imbalance at a normal listening volume with Ananda and IFI micro iDSD Black Label?

Considering all options in micro iDSD BL, you would be able to match Anands to operate them way above any possible channel imbalance.

It takes a solid +20 dB bass boost around 20 Hz really well. The bass is amazing once you reach a certain point, but it takes a lot of EQ to get there. This matches up with the graphs too since there’s just a clear -10 dB roll off from 30 to 20 Hz. The ifi xbass adds that back in and then the ananda is perfect for my tastes. I just boost more than that using a Loki for immersive gaming and edm. I probably have it boosted by +13 dB right now. It’s no problem for the ananda. I had Elears before this and the ananda can far surpass it in bass impact with EQ, no contest. I am really eager to try an audeze sometime though. LCD-XC was my top choice but at roughly half the cost, the ananda was a no brainer. I might just like the bass on the ananda better than my emu teak, but time will tell. They’re both great.
+20 db then +10 db. Have you tried recordings in that area? Did you find any non musical effects such as phase issues, compressed dynamics or breathing. A parametic might avoid those pitfalls not any analog I've heard under $1k. Amazon actually has some insightful reviews on it.

Is there anything in particular you like about this setup?
I've tried the balanced output from a hiby R5 by itself and as a DAC, Sound Blaster Zx and a couple other DACs I have and it just seems like the output improves what I hear in soundstage and imaging. I wouldn't say it's life changing or anything but I hear a clear difference in just the single ended output from my experience.
I still need to try them with a few other setups to see if I get a similar listening experience but it's my preferred so far.

Thanks!

Hit that Bass Boost!

It's a dangerous weapon, this one :D
