has anyone tried the new firmware (v2.0.7 build 6058) of hiby music app which features PEQ ?

Hi all,

I am pleased to announce the addition of a new feature!

It's called Dynamics under HiByMusic app for R Android. (currently, inside the app, not system plugins).




It enhances dynamics (punch, snap, PRAT etc.) of bass / mids / treble when sliders pushed to the right. Recommend: suitable boost of bass and treble dynamics, experiment with small boosts to mids only. Can combine with EQ bass / treble cuts to e.g. remove muddy bass while enhancing punch. Can combine treble dynamics cut with EQ treble boost to remove e.g. sibilance while retaining overall brightness.

Note, 0x is the neutral setting, +x are increases and -x are decreases of each band's dynamics.

Oh, good question. But no. I think if you switch between the two you can see that the two things have very different takes on "dynamics enhancement". You'll see

HDR is specific to certain flavours of Darwin.

This new Dynamics plugin has made it to most existing R Android models already. Just refresh your plugin list (restart HiByMusic if need be)

May I be frank and say that as a hobbyist programmer I have no idea why it doesn't manage to load on the systemwide DSP system as yet, and as such it will be done when it's done

Just tried n I'm very happy with this plug'n. Indeed it takes very differently from darwin hdr. Thanks for the good work !

I tweaked slightly with bass +0.3 mids +0.2 treble +0.3 and the result is very significant:
- vocal is more focused.
- bass is more punchy but less muddy.
- treble is more sparkling.
- sound stage is more wide opened.
Its real fun!

Yes please! I had forgotten where the Spatializer plug ins had gone for example, as I could not find it system wide, just in the HiBy player... would be great to have them and the other plugins available for everything else native..

The gain setting in the Dynamics plugin cannot be saved after adjustment. Logout n in of the app removes the adjusted value and retains at the default value of - 6.0db. Is this a bug or... ?
