The burn-in procedure is to use the burn in tracks from aforementioned CDs. Low to mid volumes are best and safe. You can use shoebox with a blanket around headphones … put in closet. The dap/amp should be on adapter power, of course.
Okay to use for pleasure listening… but serious tests, 200 hours minimum.

It was pre-effin' broken in on balanced side. I don't have a procedure; I just plug and play.

As for portable amps, lots out there: Cayin C9, Woo Audio WA8, Mass Kobo 424/428, Romi BX2 Plus, Aroma A100TB, etc. More budget friendly, Topping NX7 has just come out and is affordable.

Not been that impressed with the RS2 paired with headphones.... until now

Agree with post above. Aside from 109 Pro and/or using with external amp, I had thought the RS2 would be mostly destined for IEMs.

However, dicking around, I found that much to my surprise the Kennerton Rognir (planar) actually combines with the RS2 incredibly well. True, there's not an abundance of headroom - I'm running them at about 70-75 - but the tonal synergy is absolutely 100%. Really engaging. Maybe it's something to do with the current mode amplification the RS2 uses, which planar headphones tend to respond well to.

So far I'm quite impressed with this little block of music goodness, yes it's not the fastest in response but once you hit play that's when the fun starts, burning in as I go as electricity costs a fortune over here in the UK, going through my collection of grados and fostex 900mk2 and some iems and I'm more than happy with it

RS2 with full-size cans day!



Love the warm-ish sound of RS2 and the details of Ether CX. RS2 has all the juicy to run it (Vol 62 in high gain)

Gots my mothea effea yesterday. Arrived way before Amazon effin' date. USPS. Typical Amazoooooooooooon logistics competency.
Burnin' in effin' now.
Locked up for 10 effin' mins after running okay initially for effin' 15 min. Weird effin' "Update v1.11 , insert TF" message on screen. Removed from effin' glove -- the condumb. Did effin' everything. Removed effin' power. Connected to effin' PC. Pressed / held / prayed on every and all effin' RS2 buttons. Everything under the effin' Sun. No effin' change. Too bad this does not have "insert pin" reset most of my other DAPs do.
And then ... poof .... fault went away after about 15 effin' mins ... and back to normal. Put back into effin' glove. Used extensively. No effin' issues since.
Y'all want an effin' Selfie ... best I can effin' do ...

Lotta dirty ear wax on the JVCs.... my IE900 and FiiO FH7 ... and a half-a-dozen other IEMs are in my travellin 'bag so they can't be part of the family photo today.
About the TP ... do you have to ask? There is nothin' like listenin' to tunez on da throne. We all do it. Man ... it's like a drug.
