Looks nice. Lacking Turbo Mode, as you said, and has less power through P/O. I think it is nice to have the power if needed. The form factor looks nice.Did you guys/gals see the announcement of new R6, a.k.a. mini-R8? R8 is still the flagship with Turbo mode and high power output for demanding headphones, but the new R6 might be a good alternative for IEMs, and it looks like a scale down version of R8.

Assuming the SQ is there or thereabouts the R8 (that's a big 'IF' given the price difference), and you're mainly using IEMs, this should be a winner. Especially if it improves on the R6 Pro, which the specs suggest it will.Looks nice. Lacking Turbo Mode, as you said, and has less power through P/O. I think it is nice to have the power if needed. I agree. As I said it is nice to be have power if needed. That doesn't mean that this won't be great for someone that uses only IEMs. I do know that I use Turbo for my IEMs, it appears to increase the stage in all directions. Is that worth the price difference, I can't say. I know that I also enjoy a headphone from time to time. I also have the SP2000 so I am prone to power and higher priced DAPs. I was using tidal app and playing a Playlist that I downloaded to try and get some burn in time. I let it play with headphones plugged and the player got very warm, almost uncomfortable hot. When I checked on it, it was on song 53. So it played 53 songs In a row. Mostly hifi, with some master tracks. Nothing running in the background. Low gain, turbo off.
Only have yt, Chrome, tidal, an uapp installed so far.
Should I be concerned about how hot it got? Or is this something with tidal? Have not tried with the music on my SD card as that is at my other place

It would probably wise to do the run it without the case on, it prevents heat dissipation quite a bit... I use turbo mode ON the R8 gets pretty warm indeed even low gain...

I did the burn-in without the case on, on a cool surface to avoid heat and after 8hrs of continuous burn-in, it was still only mildly hot.
Agree re the heat with the case on. I was very worried about this so have been running it with a fan blowing gently toward it. Even with the case on it now keeps it pretty cool to the touch (room temp).
i did not have the case on when i let it run. have been looking for a new case as the dignis one that came with the player is kind of annoying

The sliding off is annoying indeed... the standard case looks more sound in terms of design!

@subguy812 Looks like a nice cable, meaning to get an upgrade cable for the SR2 I'll look into it...
Very nice cable @subguy812. Looks almost as thicc as the PW No.5 8-wire I have on my Trio. Love me them gorgeous copper cables!
This is my third cable from Arctic. I had two pure Silver cables from them, one for Stellia and one for Verite Closed. This copper is beautiful. The camera doesn't do it justice.Very nice cable @subguy812. Looks almost as thicc as the PW No.5 8-wire I have on my Trio. Love me them gorgeous copper cables!

Yes agree. The Dignis case is really very annoying. The sliding off is annoying indeed... the standard case looks more sound in terms of design!
On another point, my R8 has gone back to Hiby to do something about the equally annoying volume control. Mine falls off if you hold the player upside down and is appallingly insensitive when you turn it (several clicks before anything happens!) I really don’t expect these kinds of issues on something costing this much money.
