@Joe Bloggs I tried to connect my MacBook via USB (to listen to audio from the Mac via USB) but I see in the Connected Devices page USB is displaying Not Connected

What do I do?

I don't really know what you're referring to, but I can say that in general, you connect to a computer as an audio device via the following:
1. Physically connect it to the computer
2. Drag down the notification shade and scroll to the bottom where it says something like "connected for charging; tap for more options", tap it and change it to USB Audio; at this point the display will change to a fullscreen USB DAC display
3. If need be, go to your Mac's sound settings and choose the new sound device (the R6 pro) as the default sound device so that sound will actually be routed through it (though this part should be automatic these days)

Can you see the USB is greyed out when I connect power and also when I connect to a audio device. how can I activate it?

Your screen is for outputting sound *from* the R6pro, not outputting sound from your computer *to* it. Please follow the steps I described, now with pictures:
1. Physically connect it to the computer
2. Drag down the notification shade and scroll to the bottom where it says "USB charging this device"

3. Tap it once to show "tap for more options"

4. Tap it again to change it to USB Audio (3rd radio button)

5. at this point the display will change to a fullscreen USB DAC display

Hope that helps!

Thanks I will try it. But I have been on the notice screen and have never seen anything in that lower part of the screen.

I recall you said that you were using a Mac as a source? Did you install “Android File Transfer” on your Mac? If not, it won’t recognise that you have plugged in your R6pro. In turn, if the R6p isn’t recognised, then you won’t see the option to choose USB function.

Hey my man... is there a resource (user guide or instructions or demo) that tells us exactly how to use MSEB the best way?
Some of the settings seem sort of self-explanatory, but I am mostly guessing and experimenting with it.
Let me know if there is a place where I can read up on how to understand it a little better.
Thanks much brother..
Perhaps you might find the following glossary of sound description terms useful to reference to the terms on MSEB:

Any outstanding issues / bugs that should prevent me from pulling the trigger and getting the R6 Pro?

- I read in some reviews that Tidal wasn't bit perfect? Is that now fixed, and does MQA work fine?
- Any issues with hooking this up to my Mac, then using the R6 Pro via Audirvana to unfold MQA audio?
- What's the max size microsd card I can slam into this?
- Anything else that should put me off...?????

+Yes
+R6 pro doesn't unfold MQA outside of TIDAL, but since Audirvana does, yes that's fine
+2TB if you can find one xD
+I don't think so?

So, Im playing around with the "new" update and system wide MSEB and I have question because I can't seem to get it to do anything. As I play with the sliders the sound profile does not change. After adjusting the sliders, turning the MSEB on/off does not change the music in any way. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it, I assumed it would work with any app that produces sound. I've tried a few of different apps (e.g.Pandora, Rocket Player). The MSEB baked into Hiby music works, and the changes are obvious, not so with the system wide settings.

Any ideas?

Hi ratmice,

What music formats are you playing?

Also just to confirm, are you’re listening via headphones or digital out (USB / coax)? MSEB doesn’t affect digital output, in order to maintain the bitperfect stream.

Hi ratmice,

What music formats are you playing?

I'm playing CD quality FLAC files. As I mentioned the MSEB within HiBy app works fine, but the system wide doesn't seem to affect output.

@xenithon I am listening on BT headphones (Sennheiser HD-1), as those are what I have available ATM.

Update: So after cabling the headphones, it works. So, BT headphones do not benefit from the system wide MSEB, whereas the Hiby Music app version of MSEB works fine over BT. Any way to get this fixed, or is there a technical reason that the system wide MSEB doesn't work with BT headphones.

@Joe Bloggs

Still can't get anywhere with USB output.

No matter what I press it's still greyed out and no signal going out of USB C port.

See photos please.

Thanks.

What's that clear default about? I tried one of the clear options but didn't want to erase all data or erase my wifi / Bluetooth configs.

Pls advise!
