Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
Dec 3, 2019 at 9:25 PM Post #2,686 of 4,006
Is the Tidal unpack (or MQA or whatever its called) issue sorted? Will the Hiby R6 Pro stream + download to SD card and playback @ the highest res Tidal masters and output them bit perfect?

I wonder what rock, pop & baroque music is available on Tidal? Can you get all the Rolling Stones catalog on it?

Thank you..

Perhaps its time to give up on Qobuz & Android in a DAP - but I sure wish Hiby engineers would make it run better - I must have sent about 20 crash reports so far..

Those reports would have gone to Qobuz, not us :frowning2:

Actually, on further evaluation, I think the issue might be between the EL DAC and the coaxial cable Hiby supplied.
And what would that issue be?

After using my R3 for awhile, I've finally given up on the r6 pro. It feels awesome and I love the ambition of running on android, but the endless litany of battery drain issues is too much. and the fact that the player STILL doesn't sort properly is mind boggling.

I'll watch out for the next iteration in this line eagerly though!

This might help your battery drain, disable find my device under the Google menu in settings, and every other Google service.

Maybe, but I'm altogether fed up with jumping through new hoops disabling various apps every single time I do a firmware update. And even when nothing is obviously broken, the battery on my R3 lasts way longer

And what would that issue be?

For some reason I can't connect the R6 Pro to the JDS Labs EL DAC via Coax.

I detected a signal from the COAX output on the R6 Pro so I don't think it's malfunctioning.

The COAX input on the EL DAC works fine, too, so that's not the problem, I think; I connect it to other devices (although I do use a different COAX cable for those).

Nah it won't work I don't think, I just mean everything in the google tab in settings. Also recommended to grant all permissions to google play services and and store, then just disable wifi and your good.

The Hiby R6 Pro, has the Google Play Store.

Open it, search Tidal and you got it.

Tidal offline is encrypted and not findable via a File Manager without rooting.
