So far just been using the new R6 III 2025 with BT headphones and tws----and REALLY enjoying it! The unit is very ergonomical and feels very comfortable and lightweight in hand---
With the plug in feature applied--balance and dynamics ,the volume can be increased and sound punched up nicely, in addition to EQ feature--it adds a nice fuller sound.
I have yet to use iems and headphones---but will report back---fully confident it will be great. The BT sound is excellent---really happy with the sound quality on this unit--it is REALLY nice! I think this is a winner---
I would suggest using a USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter and then a USB-A to USB-C connection cable to connect to the Fosi SK02 first. To rule out a host / client confusion issue between the two USB-C ports.

Arrived last night, I have to say it's a really nice dap. After some time I managed to install the updates and everything works fine. It's exactly what I was looking for, a good dap that didn't make me regret the sound of my dongles, easy to carry around and at a low cost and that's all I found in this R6 III. I wanted to get the R4 for its smaller dimensions, but I didn't want a dap that would make me regret the sound of my best dongles too much, the R6 III is perfect for this. With good battery life if you don't activate class A which adds little but makes the battery die in a few hours (which I hate) and turns it into a toaster oven. In short, everything is fine, the only thing is that I don't know what the 2025 version can bring other than savings for Hiby due to the use of cheaper chips than those installed in this version and a greater outlay of 50 euros on the part of of the user. For 380 euros (almost the cost of a DC-07PRO or an M18i) even if it sounds slightly worse (all to be demonstrated) you get a complete solution that plays for more than 10 hours in which you can mount a microSD with the your favorite music without carrying around demanding DAPs both due to their disproportionate cost and size and weight. Now I'm listening to it with the iBasso 3T-154 and what I hear is really excellent. Of course you can't ask it for the moon... but it will do the same to you. Hiby R6 III passed with full marks.

Read what I have in my signature, I consider the R6 III a good dap, with everything you could want in terms of compatibility with apps and with separate lineout outputs which are not at all obvious considering its cost. It has a very good sound, with the right details that don't distract you from the music you're listening to. It has a decent amplification which is enough for me and more using it exclusively with IEM. Forget the excessive brightness of the first ESS chips, it has a layered bass and mids that even if dry do not show any lightness like some implementations (FiiO). The mids are agile but not light, while the highs are extended but never strident. The stage is not like a stadium, but not claustrophobic either. In a word, its sound is right, correct, without flaws but without the wow effect either. Appreciable with all IEMs, it also forgives less than excellent recordings. If you are looking for an all-rounder, this is the dap for you, but if you are looking for specific and peculiar features, it is not for you. The Latins said "in medium state virtus", virtue is in the middle and if that's what you're looking for the R6 III has many virtues. In terms of performance, among the stuff I have, perhaps the closest source is perhaps the FiiO Q15, but with some differences. If it already represented a best-buy at 499 euros, today at 380 euros it is truly a gift. This is obviously just my personal opinion.

If its performance is close to the Q15, then it’s an excellent DAP. Yes, the price is very affordable, it has great features, solid build quality, and the volume wheel is fantastic.
