It says on the official website that it can work. SK02 is a dac/AMP that needs some power. That's why an adapter is needed.
Ok, thanks. I'll try with an adapter when I'm back home.

Interested in the R6 3 2025....looks excellent. Already have too many DAP 's but would sell off one or two to make room for this if it gets rave reviews.
Look forward to any feedback or postings about this! :L3000:
CS43198 is a good dac chip, I think it will be good. Still, it is useful to wait and see the comments.

Hello, thanks for your reply.
I tried this, but it won't work.
Isn't this setting if the Hiby should act as a dac/amp in case you connect it to a computer?
In my case it should be only the digital source for an external DAC.

@Joe Bloggs : is there a possibility to make an external DAC work? E.g. Fosi SK02...
I would suggest using a USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter and then a USB-A to USB-C connection cable to connect to the Fosi SK02 first. To rule out a host / client confusion issue between the two USB-C ports.

Thank you Joe!
I'll try this as soon as I come home.

Same dac, albeit it in dual configuration as the Ibasso DX160, which i still use since 2020.

@Joe Bloggs there is a huge problem with misbehavior of physical side buttons next/previous when using Poweramp Player with all firmware versions of HIBY R6III. The playback just getting interrupted, produces a half a second of previous track sound, and half a second of next track. It's annoying as hell.

Can you please try installing it and checking the issue?

After a long time from the last dap purchased and after having collected dongles I decided to take this Hiby R6 III also thanks to the super discounted price it has now (380 euros on Hifigo). I only hope I did well, even if I don't have many demands and wanted something to carry around without too many worries. We'll see how this third generation Hiby R6 will behave.

It seems that the 2025 model of the R6 III has also been released, the only thing that seems to have changed is the chip which is now 4X CS43198 instead of 2X ES9038Q2M and the price which increases by about 50 euros. It would be curious to know what the real differences are on the audio front, more than an upgrade it looks like a sidegrade.

@Joe Bloggs About the 4x CS43198 DACs of the R6 2025: is this a 2+2 configuration like R4 (2x DAC for PCM & 2x DAC for DSD)?
no so I've been told that all channels of all the DACs are in use in all settings, SE or balanced.
