Roon's poor Android app is one of the reasons putting me off trying the trial version again. The other is the exorbitant asking price when Plex (including hi-res streaming from Plex server) is free.Yes, I tried 96 and 192 as well as MQA 48. Roon is doing the conversion. I have no idea why 44.1 unless it doesn't know how to detect supported bit rates. Roon's android app is a big disappointment.

Litteraly 100% of why I use it is because their radio stations and suggested music are *so* good

I use mostly untagged files with a pic folder and it sorts them great with art work. By artist or folder view depending on app.

Where is Joe Boggs when you need him? Probably still at the R8 thread.
How long should the R6 2020 be broken in to settle its electronics?

Thanks. The more I think about it, any DAP that has both Android OS and Google play store should let me run UAPP the same as I do now with my Android phone. Probably even my playlists should be able to drag and drop from the phone. Does this sound correct?I use mostly untagged files with a pic folder and it sorts them great with art work. Well got mine today
sounds thin as hell compared to the micro idsd black! But now I'm just letting it burn in a bit so not worried about it.
Might try a different player with a proper system wide eq. Would love suggestions fellow musiclovers.
Really enjoy that silver poison. The R6 is driving my DT 1990 PRO wery well! And we all know that it is not balanced. So, happy with the power will report back when i feel it's settled a bit.

I don’t personally use Amazon Music, but they advertise the hi-res tracks as going up to 24/192. Or are you saying that the HiBy player is limiting it somehow?

Yes. Amazon is reporting device capability at 24/48. This is really odd because my R5 goes up to 24/192 (for Amazon)...

I just got it yesterday so not a lot of listening time. I don't believe my ears are as educated as many here, and I don't want to give bad info. With that said, it sounds very similar to the R5 with no obvious defects. I also have a R6 Pro which has the random noise between tracks issue (wifi interference, maybe?). I have not noticed that on the R6 2020 (which is great).

So mine's been running for a couple days single ended. Hiby app player is very detailed but a little ethereal so I prefer uapp which has a more solid presentation and lines up those prat ducks well for me so impressions are with that. Unit is basically very well balanced, informative with enough solidity to satisfy. Nothing to call out as a fly in the ointment. I like the minimum phase slow roll off filter. Wifi works great. Haven't tried the bluetooth. Local streaming of high bit rate 24/192 files is a flawless. Haven't tried DSD and don't care.
OS works better than the Galaxy 8 I had( I prefer Apple phones). Build is phenomenal, size and weight is very easy to accommodate on the go. I'll get a balanced cable etc in the next few weeks to test further as most say it's better than way but I'm plenty happy with it as is and uapp as player. I could see the Hiby player perhaps being better with more aggressive phones.
My trepidation about trying another Andriod based DAP due to the OS or background processes mucking things up (even if not in audio path) has been superseded by a smile when I listen. They've obviously paid a lot of attention to the power supplies and interference points. Just a very well thought out, mature and quality made product with a ton of trickle down tech from the flagship R8. I suspect that the only thing that TOTL players have on this thing is more power and an even more tangible presentation when they get it right. It's neither a warm or cold player overall and that works for me.
I'd have spent up to 30% more if there was something else that I thought was better at this size that could also stream from a server and do Qobuz. I didn't see one, rolled the dice and am happy I did. I'm also kinda done with $1500+ IEMs (I think
) so this is a sweet spot for me and, I suspect, many here.

I’ve played mine a decent amount since I got it a few days ago and I find the sound through the Hiby app a slight bit better than uapp (bit perfect mode). Just my impression but I feel it’s slight bit cleaner sound.
