A public service announcement regarding TIDAL on our devices

Currently, TIDAL (builds starting from 2.87.1 that included Max level FLACs) does not seem to be working properly for devices of Android version 10 or below.

One solution is for us to upgrade all our DAPs to 11 and up, but as some of you know, our ability to do update the Android version is pretty much tied to the SoC used and the SDK provided.

Another solution, since the app does allow installation on all our DAPs ranging down to Android 6, is for TIDAL to make use of the info given above to debug the app for older versions of Android, so that they will actually run properly on devices they would install on.

As of this writing, the last TIDAL version I tested that functioned properly, was 2.86.0 . I include a link to its installer here

Are they streamed in Max/HiRes?

According to my device they are. I can’t equalize or edit sound on them. And they actually play unlike on the Tidal app. I’ve had some glitches but deleted, downloaded a second time from the App Store, then updated and all is well.

Hate to rain on our own parade, but that would mean they're playing in MQA rather than Max (which is plain FLAC, which should be DSP-able)

I connected it to a ps5 console and the display flickered. This only happens with the console's front usb port. What could be the reason?
Could it cause a breakdown in the audio circuit?
When I turn on the class a amp, I hear a soft popping sound, is that the power-on noise? If yes it is, why not hear always, every time i turn it on?

Does anyone have problems with connecting Bluetooth earbuds to this device? I try to connect Galaxy Buds 2, pairing works well, these buds are paired, but don't connect, no matter what I try. Am I doing something wrong?

Good for you Got the R5 yesterday, returning it today, the system works pretty slow, the Hiby music app is quite ugly and limited in functionality, with class A mode the device gets really hot after few minutes (a little to hot for my taste), got some weird device freezes and crashes, issue with the BT earbuds etc. For the first day it's a little to much for me for a device priced several hundred USD. Sending it back.
