Hmm OK so definitely no good for what I would use it for .
I would have hoped DAPs had progressed since I had one
It's definitely not the case with all units, not something we can reproduce at headquarters, though admittedly we still don't know the cause for those who have the issue.

Joe, at HQ someone used Tidal > downloaded for offline play about 1k worth of songs > then when starting the M300 > not connected to the Internet, there was no delay playing the 1st song? And this is repeatable?

Not at all, every time.

I'm really trying to understand.

1. At HQ, the Tidal App was downloaded and set up for off line playing, and there was no delay when offline playback first started? This is a question.

2. How long did the average song take to download? It took my M300 about 50 hours all together to get @3,000 songs.

Following this thread now. The TIDAL situation is critical in my case as I would literally be buying the M300 for Offline TIDAL use as I do with my IPhone 13.
I could keep a lower number of Tidal albums on the M300, like say 60 or 70 if this helps the situation, but not sure why it would?

It will work bitperfect through UAPP. It doesn't, through USB, without UAPP, but that doesn't affect the functionality of UAPP itself.
Thank you

We could not replicate either the slow download speeds or the lag in starting usage of the downloaded files, at headquarters.

Neither can some of your fellow users.

Then, I occasionally see a claim like this:

Note that fake cards can be as advertised in size but just awfully slow.

No, my card is not fake. I posted a picture of it here, usually rated #1 card. Check the photos in this thread: I asked YOU if it could be the reason for the problems.
Introducing the idea of a fake card is very frustrating. Other M300 owners are having same problems, and on other HiBy DAPs too.

I'll make it easier to answer:

To my questions: Number 1. Yes, No, Don't know: Did HQ actually download the Tidal APP to do the tests?
Number 2. In minutes how long did it take to download the average song?

Maybe the tried and true rule "One get's what one pays for." $169 DAP just can't do all the things it's trying to do?

I'm getting a lot of split second audio dropouts over Bluetooth since the latest upgrade - to my Jabra Elite earbuds and also also my Wonderboom speakers. Both work flawlessly with my 10 year old iPod Nano, but it's getting annoying now on the M300 - getting a dropout every 4-5 minutes. @Joe Bloggs can this be looked into please?
Any feedback or suggestions on this? I use PowerAmp and it's been fine with my Bluetooth earbuds and speakers until not, but has been really annoying since the OS update. I've set the PowerAmp Bluetooth buffering to 'Huge', but still getting he dropouts. @JoeBloggs or others - any advice?

Joe, please explain to me on how it can be the card... when the card is set up as Internal storage the downloads are fast as expected, but then the card is set up as Portable, it takes hours if not days to download the same number of flies. Either way it is going to the same card, so if it was the card, the long download times would be on either set up of the card.... Right?

Have you tried another card?

It doesn't even have to be as expensive as this one.

It can be a compatibility issue rather than an absolute "is my card made of solid gold".

If it turns out to be a compatibility issue with this top grade Sandisk it wouldn't be the first time for us.

To your questions, yes we are using the tidal app. We could download several songs per minute. This, even over a VPN which is necessary to make TIDAL work, at all, in China.

AND I AM TELLING YOU THAT NOT ALL HIBY USERS USING TIDAL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

FOR ONE, IT EXCLUDES ANYONE AT HIBY HQ.

IT EXCLUDES ME.

WE CAN'T MAKE OUR DEVICES EXHIBIT THIS PROBLEM NO MATTER HOW HARD WE TRY, AND IT'S PRACTICALLY OUR JOB in testing TO MAKE OUR PRECIOUS DEVICES FAIL IN ALL KINDS OF SPECTACULAR UNEXPECTED WAYS EVERY DAY.

SO STOP TRYING TO MAKE AS THOUGH I AM TRYING TO BURY A UNIVERSAL PROBLEM UNDER THE SAND.

I mean, I'm just trying to find out how the problem ticks.

There's someone right there claiming that his problem went away after changing his card.
