What's the difference - besides $1200? If you've heard them both, sound off. I'd like to know what I'm missing from my HF2's, which are amazing in their own right. Does a Darth Vader muffin top make that much difference in the sound?

$12000?! I had no idea that the HF-2's have matured in value that much! Dang. Should have never sold my pair at MSRP value.

All I can say is that HF2 are nice, thats all, and because I am not in the position yet to say anything about PS1000, but comming from GS1k I believe they will eat the HF2 alive and within a second.

I'm interested in a comparison too. If the PS1000 has the "deeper" read distant soundstage I'm not interested. The mids are already to distant in the HF2 vs the RS1.

I don't find anything appealing about Grados at all. Having said that, I heard many of them at CanJam and more since then. The HF2 are the only ones I find listenable. I heard nothing special at all in the GS1000 or PS1000. If you like Grados, save your money and keep your HF2.

Seeing the Team Musical Truth footnote in your sig after reading this post made me laugh. Seems like the truth is hardly listenable for you. Probably the truth about the equipment. I'd rather stick with Blackmore's opinion adding that the PS1000 is overall better than the GS1000.

Yeah it is strange opinion (although it is normal that sombody dont like Grado, it is subjective and depend on a lot of things) and here is another

I've heard (not from my experience, others opinions) that the PS1000s are more accurate with a wider soundstage, but due to this they lose the Grado sound that makes rock so awesome to listen to. The HF2, on the other hand, are praised for being THE rock phones.

The HF2s with Jumbo pads would probably be a decent compromise, but some people don't like the change they give.

I have HF-2 which i think are an awesome Rock headphone, very happy with them and great value for the price.
But to compare them to PS1000 which i have heard is not in the same Ball Park.
PS1000 is Like Formula 1 sleek well tuned as HF-2 more like Hot street car.
In other words, not in the same class, but good for what they do- Rock & Blues

Its rediculous to compare headphones to ones you haven't even heard just based on price. Everyone has different tastes, a price tag does not a headphone make. I'll take my MS-Pros over GS1000's anyday.
