I'm fairly settled on the Shure se215, Westone 1, or the HiFiMAN RE-400. I have used the ATH M50's for the past year and love their sound signature. The summer is simply too hot to be wearing them around so I decided on a pair of IEMs. I listen to rock, metal and classical. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

I have the SE215 and I love em, but they wouldnt be my first thought for rock, metal and classical; I use them more for funk rock, reggae/dub, electronic. Haven't heard the RE400 myself but they might have a better signature for your preferred genres.

se215 is better.

You've heard all three?

If you're fine with a more neutral bass response, the RE400 will fit what you want in an IEM...

I'm not exactly a basshead so I should be fine with a more neutral bass response. Thanks!

Might want to also look at the Sunrise Xcape IE. Very balanced, mostly neutral sound with great extension on both ends. It should be a slightly more "fun" version of the RE400.

Just looked up some reviews on it and it sounds to be a great pair of phones. If I can find a pair somewhere, I will probably end up buying those as they are exactly what I am looking for. Thank you!

How is the audio quality of the HiFiMAN RE-400 compared to HiFiMAN RE-0. The RE-0 is my absolutely favorite IEM of all time, but it has fallen apart and I have glued it back on many times.

I hesitate to use ebay due to fakes, but Sunrise isn't a big enough brand to be copied as far as I know.

If you don't want to take the risk and deal with the hassle of shipping from (what appears to be) Germany:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunrise-Xcape-Impressive-Edition-HiFi-Stereo-Inner-Ear-Earphones-Earbuds-/290761282918 (ebay but slightly cheaper)

http://www.lendmeurears.com/product_info.php?products_id=47 (also slightly cheaper, might be high)
