Hello, I am searching for a pair of IEMS that are (In descending priority):
1. Bassy
2. Darker (At least no sibilance or piercing treble)
3. Bassy (see the pattern here?)
4. Less sensitive (less than 120db would be nice), 32 ohm impedance (not 16) would also be nice.
5. Detachable cord.

Right now Aurisonics ASG-1 is at the top of my list.
Any other suggestions?? The Sennheiser IE80 look nice but are too sensitive (i hate the noise some super sensitive IEMs can pick up).

+1 for um3x especially if you listen to female vocals

How does the bass compare? The sensitivity of 124db has me a bit worried. I dont think the um3x could output the bass of the asg-1. Maybe a nice second pair though!

The Ultimate Ears Super-Fi 5EB are very bassy but has no treble energy to come in way. JVC FX3X are also punchy in base , Denon C300 is Super bassy and no piercing treble.

I own the IE8 and have heard the IE80's (Actually have some on the way - I'm crazy) and I have never had an issue with an elevated noise floor - they definitely are efficient, but the highs are not so pronounced to where hiss (or any kind of sibilance) would be an issue. You are describing the IE80.

I really considered the IE80, but I will be using this on my phone/travel. The devices (low output impedance) I use have a higher noise floor/hiss if the IEMS are too sensitive or too low impedance. I can hear the "Android hiss" with my vmoda bass freq's on the S3, HTC One and S4, it drives me nuts.

i dont think there will be an very loud hiss with ie80 if you are not using powerful amp/source.
my ie80 do have hiss with my htc one and galaxy s4 but its very minimum and not really disturbing compared to the hiss of my studio v

How do the w3x vs ie80 vs sm3 result? Anyone hear them side by side?
I currently have less sensitive IEMs than the ie80 and the hiss bothers me.

i had heard the sm3 and i dont think it will suit for someone who is searching for bass because i find that the sm3 have less bass then um3x.
also i heard the heir 3ai have a great bass so i though you might want to consider them.

The IE80 is the only one has zero sibilance in my gear, for bassy IEM, you cant go wrong with it

W3 is also good in the V shaped genre. No hiss from my iPhone 5. I personally thought the SM3 was a smoother and darker sound than the UM3X. I did like the UM3X, except that the soundstage was too confined for my tastes. It really is a musician's monitoring earphone.
