Not to rub it in but I am really enjoying mine.:dt880smile: I know the waiting part sucks. But you will be happy when they finally arrive. Worth the wait.

Anybody who wants to take a drive is welcome to come on over and listen to them yourself. I'm just north of Flint, Michigan. Bring your headphones and we can have a mini can jam.

Just received these today, headband extension is still too short. At least I can hear them on my own setup now.

Definitely preferring these with 300B drive vs. 2A3 or solid-state.

And I think they just made my "Top 5" for open-back headphones.
Top 5 are ?

Someone of the owners with a R2R Dac in here?

I'm curios about the synergy of them. :)

For open-backs, which is what I was referring to ...
  1. RAAL-requisite SR1a
  2. Focal Utopia
  3. ZMF Vérité
  4. LCD-4/Abyss/RAD-0*
  5. HEDDphone
The Sennheiser HD800S is what got displaced.

*And it is ONE of these in position 4, I'm just not sure which ... there are pros and cons each way both in terms of performance, ergornomics and value.

No Hifiman in your top 5?

No Hifiman in your top 5?

No HiFiMAN in my top 10.

The HE6SE is enjoyable enough for its price, but not anywhere near my top 5 in performance. The Susvara would make the top 5, probably, if it wasn't such a cheap and chintzy feeling thing and wasn't bested, in every regard (for me), by other, much less expensive, headphones. Everything else in their line up just doesn't do it for me.

If that's Abyss Phi, time to try the Abyss Phi TC methinks..

I owned the original AB-1266, the Phi and the Phi CC, for years.

And I've spent enough time with the TC to know that, for me, it wasn't worth taking the hit on the Phi CC sale (already sold and literally the worst resale % of any headphone I've ever owned, and I wasn't in a hurry ... I kept them listed for months) and then re-buying a $5,000 headphone. At least not at this point in its lifetime.

I'll revisit the Abyss with their next update/replacement.

No HiFiMAN in my top 10.
Ouch!!! :confounded:
My personal favorite from HiFiMAN, BTW, is the HEXv2. Liked it better than HEK. Never auditioned the newer 1000SE though.
As for Susvara - I never understood the hype. But that is me...

While it isn't in my top five, I really enjoy my HEX. Especially for a portable option. Well by portable I mean out of my A&K SE100 sitting by my pool. Not out in public.:)
