I am looking to replace my 10 year old pair of MDR V600. I use these headphones to listen to hemisync and meditation stuff in bed, and sometimes casual listening around the house. The pads (and the headphones) have become crap, but the headphone's relative flatness makes them comfortable to sleep on.

Anyway, can you recommend some flat headphones that could be slept in? Obviously they cant leak sound or my wife will be pissed at me. My budget is 50-150$.

Thanks

KSC75, seriously. Takes a few days to adjust to clip ons, but once you do, the KSC75 can LITERALLY be used while sleeping as they will never fall off, are small enough to lay with.

Oh wait... noise leak, lol.

Phew that was a close one.

I almost caved after being reluctant to try the KSC75 but then I remembered my vow not to buy any more until the LCD-2...

I've always wanted a sleeping, or at least bed-headphone but I move too much and am afraid to squish/scratch my headphones. My ES7's were perfect but I think they have finally run out after all these years.

We seriously are like an AA group, except we enable each others addictions...

If you are a low level listener, I don't see how the KSC75 would be an issue. Honestly, are you going to blast your music while sleeping? O_o

Riku... its like $13.... stop ignoring them!

Yeah but you gain real world benefits with the KSC75! There is no downside!

XD

I seriously use them about 10x more than all my other headphones. They just rock.

For the price of admission, you're getting a ridiculous amount of awesome.

i am reluctant to go with koss for 2 reasons, let me know if they are bad:

  • koss is a cheap brand that makes crappy things
  • ive had sony headphones of similar design that i used for running, after a while they hurt my ears from how they were attached.

also, id rather get over the ear headphones because my meditation stuff sounds really good when you have a good range of sound, which i have never experienced with non over-the-ear headphone

Wow, you obviously DON'T do your homework. The Koss KSC75 and Koss Portapro are THE most popular budget headphone on Head-fi. And RIGHTLY so. Next time, you might wanna read up a little before making such assumptions.

As for comfort, all you have to do is get used to them for a few days, then it's as if you're wearing nothing at all.  They are the only headphone I have worn that I never have to readjust once I put them on. Take it from me. I'm VERY anal when it comes to headphone comfort, and I will say that the KSC75 is THE most comfortable headphone I have ever worn, again, after I got used to having a clip on resting on my ear. There is zero clamping force, and they don't budge no matter what I do.
