Finally time for some upgrading! Been stuck with my current rig way too long.

So, any tips for an SS amp in the $1000 range? My only demand really is that it has a preamp (preferably one that isn't crap) and that it'll work well with my D5000's (or hopefully D7000's soon).

Thanks.

I've pined for a GS-1 in the past but haven't really been active in the community for about a year and thought that maybe something else had taken over the crown. Apparently the Audio-gd Phoenix is getting a lot of love for example.

Since burson is a company which make standalone preamps, i'm sure the one on the 160D is pretty good.
Also a good match for Denons

They indeed seem very nice. Too bad it has a DAC though since I really don't need one. Don't like to pay the additional cost for something I'm not gonna use.

Worth some consideration though.

I can vouch for the Burson 160D amp and they go well with Denons. I have a markl modded Denon.

You can always get the stand-alone amp.
