As far as I know Justin ships just about anywhere. I would guess the shipping cost would be around $25

Clipping

Was looking at some specs last night and realized another area where the digital volume control in the Pico Slim does extremely well.

It has the ability to accept audio inputs that are far larger voltage than the voltage that powers the digital volume control (in the case of a li-ion/li-poly battery, usually 3 to 4V).

With most other digital volume controls, audio inputs at higher voltages than the battery voltage will be clipped.

Does your source output more than 3-4 volts / 1-1.4Vrms? If you are using an iPod or other portable DAP, you should be OK -- most of the time. If you use a home CD player or DAC, chances are you will be in the clipping range. Many USB DACs will also output above this level.

Clipping will become a significant issue especially with recent CD pressings being made with almost no headroom. The Pico Slim can accept an input signal far greater than necessary from any kind of source.

It does not need a gain switch and therein lies one of the beautiful things about the design. It's the first, and only to my knowledge, amp to use an attenuator that is perfectly channel matched down to -110db (or thereabouts). Just about every other design that I've seen (including others using digital pots) go down to around -60db and sometimes that just isn't enough with sensitive IEMs.

Looks like I picked a great time to explore portable HiFi.

I'll be watching very closely for more info on this amp.

Now if I can just get HeadDirect to ship me a pair of RE0's. Tried ordering last night and went through PP checkout, but nothing in my PP account shows it ?! I emailed HD cust serv, so hopefully I'll hear back this afternoon.

BTW...Has anyone who's been lucky enough to listen to this amp hear it with the RE0's? Thoughts?
