It's hard to say how long the wait is though because it may look like more pre-orders/day are occurring now as opposed to 4-5 months ago.

Assuming something like 1.25 pico's gets made per day is probably your best bet.

I ordered my Pico on 12/16/07 and received shipment on 3/5/08 [#156]. I changed my order from silver to orange after a couple of weeks. Justin graciously informed me that he could do the change to, at least at that time, a "non-standard" color but that it would take a few weeks longer. I was willing to wait. I'm extremely busy in the spring. I didn't even begin to put the Pico through its paces until early June. I haven't stopped since. It is worth any wait that's involved IMHO. I have said this before, but I don't think I'm going to feel a need to upgrade any time soon. Thanks to HeadAmp/Justin for a fine piece of work...

We're just trying to get an accurate picture of how long the wait times are. Your experience confirms that the wait times have only been getting LONGER and still continue to do so. Also, while it appeared that Justin requested payment right before shipping during earlier batches. It's looking like he requests payment 1-2 months before shipment now.

Does anyone know low and high gain settings? I couldn't find definite information.

Damn good question. The manual states the following:
"GAIN - The gain switch sets the maximum amplication for the headphone amp. Use “high gain” (up) for full-size headphones with low efficiency. Use “low gain” (down) for in-ear-phones and other headphones with high efficiency."

I haven't seen a technical explanation of the differences but would like to know myself i.e. opamp output difference between the two settings. I'm using the PICO as a DAC/preamp, and both settings recommended around here at 12:00 @ hi-Gain or MAX @ low-gain seem too hot for line-level output IMHO. I'm running 12:00 on low-gain -> PPX3 SLAM -> RS-1. Sounds awesome!

Did you see my reply there? He doesn't know for sure either. The information that was circulated here and other boards was that low gain is 2, Asr thinks that it's probably around 3. I don't remember Justin posting this info anywhere, thus my question. Hope Justin will chime in.

Nope, not until Justin disappears for 6-9 months and doesn't respond to single email or forum post. Something not likely to happen. This is more of a supply and demand problem, like when people would be on the list for a Harley for 2 years back in the mid 90's.
