I downloaded the hi rez version, converted to .wav using flac front end, and burned a disc using itunes. The CD is, well, CD quality.

It really couldn't have been easier.

I finished listening to it,once, really tired after gym but still a nice compilation, tried to critically listen as much as I could, loved the drum track with increasing soundstage and the heartbeat

This is big fun. Get it in the FLAC High-res and go nuts listening to it. Too bad everything doesn't sound this great. With such great tracks too this makes me think my personal music library is one dimensional.

it's sad that most CDs have sound quality no where near this one. i just picked up the new Sade CD and the sound is compressed, distorted (at times) and overly loud. disappointing.

How can I know if my soundcard supports 24/96 audio quality..

I'm having a similar problem as well with no 7 on the HiFiMan. Its shows up ok put when i try to play it it jumps straight to track 8. I know that i cant play 88.2KHz files on it so that could be a possible reason.

Can any other HiFiMan owners play track 7 on theirs?

I still reach for a specific track by R. Vaughan Williams from Chesky's 10th Anniversary Special Ed. sampler disc in order to check for spacial information and bass depth in any new component or system I'm auditioning. Simply the most stunning recording of choir and organ music I ever heard. I highly recommend it to anyone putting together an audiophile sampler disc!

Right, but you lost the 24/96.

Is there anyway to do the conversion as Erik did, but keep it 24/96 on the CD?

Does anyone have an issue with Hi-rez downloads showing up, out of order on the 801. I have "Raising Sand", Ottmar Liebert's "One Guitar", and the Head-Fi CD. They show up fine on the SD card on the computer, but on the HM-801, it goes 1,10,11,12,2,3,4,5,6, etc.
I will try track 7 now and see if it skips.

Mine is similar but lists them as 1,10,11,12,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 perhaps it takes 10 11 and 12 as sub track 1 files?

I think it is the 88.2KHz sample rate that is causing the issue because when I convert it to it to 96 KHz it plays without any issue. I just think it is because some systems don't support 88.2KHz.
