HD650's (vs DT770's) for Trance/Electronic Music?

SR-71 is a great pairing for the HD650. You won't want to take them off your head.

SR-71 is a portable amp with the price tag around US$450. For US$450 there are lots of desktop amplifier products, is it still valuable to take SR-71 as a mate for HD 650 if not for portable using? Can SR-71 compete with desktop amp at the same price range?
