The cable end broke off in the HD600s today and I can't seem to get it out.

That warped plastic bit on the end of the driver refuses to budge.  The damage is the result of trying to use needle-nose pliers to get it out.  Any thoughts?

The image doesn't display but it is in your gallery so I was able to see it.

Did you buy the HD600 used?  Have they been modded at all?  How old is the headphone?
I'm thinking that maybe someone soldered the pins to the springs or used some sort of contact enhancement in a desperate attempt to stop an intermittent connection problem that can afflict older HD600.  Otherwise why could it get stuck?
Here's two links for the intermittent connection problem fixes along with some pictures of the driver pod and the springs:

Could someone have been crazy enough to super glue the cable plug into the driver pod?

It's baffling.  The other cable end came out but only after pulling with a substantial amount of force.  I'm thinking of epoxying a pushpin to the flattened plastic bit to see if it'll let me pull hard enough to remove it.

After much tugging and pulling I finally got it out.  Let this be a cautionary tale to people who use the HD650 cable on HD600s.

I had the same problem with my HD600's (bought new)  when I was trying to remove the stock cable. I pulled the cable hard and eventually broke it....

I forgot how I pulled the stuck mini-plug out but it was a PITA for sure...

I use the HD650 cable on both my HD580 and HD600.  The cable fits fine.  Doesn't get stuck.  The HD650 cable does fit a little more snug, but that's a good thing.  The slightly more snug fit which keeps the plug from rocking or moving in the jack, which reduces the chances of getting intermittent connection problems.  I haven't had intermittent connection problems when using the HD650 cable.  I have with the HD580/HD600 cable (I've got older versions of the HD580 and HD600).  With the HD600 cable I was wedging little slivers of cardboard between the cable plug and the ear cup jack to get the cable to fit more snugly without moving around.  It helped.  Haven't needed to do anything like that with the HD650 cable.

The cable does have on large pin and one small pin.  I wonder, if you put the cable in so the larger diameter pin was forced in the small hole if it would get stuck?  The "L" and "R" on the cable plug should face outwards.  Otherwise the cable is plugged in backwards.
