Not R26 related (sorry). But I framed a flat screen monitor that’s connected to my Roon core(MBP). With an app called Amphetamine you can close your MBP without it going to sleep. A slideshow with photos of my son and I plays as a screen saver.

That is very cool Cam. I’ve heard amphetamines are not good for your core fwiw

Adding Tidal connect would be a game changer. I have a friend who gave up on Roon since he didnt think the cost was worth it. He primarily streams from Tidal. If Tidal connect works on this I can see this DAC appealing to ALOT of people.

It works, but not in official way (yet). You need to modify R26 yourself(guide provided), or use test firmware provided from Gustard that has applied steps privided by @NoaHimesaka.

Yes, the shared test firmware file has been removed. But someone can have backup of it.

@MizMaze I have the R26 paired with my Ferrum OOR / Hypsos driving my Susvara and could not be happier. Perfect paring. If you want the sound signature of the R2R then the R26 is a great way to go without jumping into the deep end with a Holo Spring / May. I think it would be a great paring with the Violectric amp (V222).

Awesome. Glad to hear (pun intended). Curious if the Freya impacts the sound or is the impact neutral? Great preamp from what I have read.

In passive mode, no. It is fully transparent to my ears. Basically a "wire with gain." In the Solid-State and Tube modes - yes, it alters enhances the sound slightly, but I dig the way the tubes and the R26 synergize with my speakers. I got one on closeout a few weeks ago and am thoroughly impressed. I prefer the flexibility of Noval tubes so the Freya + N was an obvious choice.

Hi Duffer,
How did you make the screen work with roon?
Is there a possibility to attach the screen via hdmi directly to a roon core or do you have to put a raspberry pi in between?
