If they have built the hardware into units being sent out it really should be on a download link somewhere. It isn't like there are that many of us in the world that have the DAC.

This website that I assume is their official (http://www.gustard.cn/) says the firmware update is 1.3. Their contact emails is at 163.com - not sure if that is their legit contact?

What part are you getting stuck at? Are you able to open the installer?

Yep I can open the driver and installer. The installer never finds the USB that it says pops up. The drop down menu only has the COM options. Tried with power off on front and back / power on / power on back off on front. Tried 4 usb c cables.
You may have to find a real Windows machine. It popped up right away with my W10 pc. I'm at work and can't try right now but can play with it tonight.

How do I show the firmware version? (Yes, I did a search)
1. turn off the r26
2. hold on the button inside the ring (on the right side of the front panel)
3. turn on the r26

version will be displayed

In the case of local FLACs served by the LMS I can set the server to transcode to PCM and send the stream in full PCM resolution over the network to the streamer that just lets it pass through OR send the stream as FLAC on the network and let the streamer transcode to PCM (saves bandwidth).

That's brilliant. It looks like you have identified the issue that bubble users have with interrupts on the R26. That's without you even using bubble. Very smart :)

Your advanced skills with LMS could allow you to further test the R26 ethernet streaming ability. This would sort out if the bottleneck is bubble or the R26 streaming firmware. Would you be interested in trying to reproduce interrupts sending your R26 FLAC or MQA files to decode versus bit stream already decoded on your LMS?
