OK, here you go, give this a try
for V4A driver status of 44100Hz: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1mt41onepp2qgnq/110Hz%20%2B8dB%20low%20shelf-44k.irs?dl=0

Although, for your application, either should do fine

Tried both and still no dice. Even tried freezing Knox with Titanium Backup but SELinux mode changer doesn't seem to work. After installing and granting root access, tapping the permissive mode doesn't seem to do anything. getenforce still returns enforcing.

Getting desperate here =(

Edit:] Apparently SELinux can't be set to permissive on the Samsung kernel. Looks like I'll have to flash a custom kernel. Ugh....everything was working so well on JB. Stupid Lollipop...
I would find kitkat and flash it back onto your phone then it will work. I couldn't get it to work with lollipop at all and tried everything so I flashed kitkat back onto my s5 and it worked perfectly.

Which version of kitkat are you using?
For my phone I'm thinking of using I9505XXUGNJ5, assuming the new bootloader plays nice with kitkat
Initially after flashing to Lollipop I wasn't overly impressed so I restored my 4.2.2 nandroid backup but the new bootloader from flashing to 5.0.1 messed it making the SD card and wifi inoperable. :frowning2:

Definitely a kernel issue, flash a non stock kernel, you should be good to go.

Is there a kernel for the GT-i9505 that you would suggest? I'm looking at the Imperium LL Kernel v3.1
If that doesn't work I may just go with a custom ROM.

Not too sure, but maybe one that has selinux set to permissive.

Most custom kernels will have SELinux set to permissive. Imperium Kernel is no exception. I'm just apprehensive about custom kernels as some can negatively affect things like battery life. If a kernel came with a recommendation I'd be more willing to try it out.

Guess I'll give Imperium Kernel a spin and see how it goes.

You can always flash the stock kernel back.

Looks like I might have to go that route after all. Flashed Imperium kernel and now soft keys don't work. In addition, even with a custom kernel with SELinux set to permissive, the V4A drivers still refuse to install. What a pain...maybe I'll try downgrading to 4.4.4 or a custom rom.

I had that issue with my Note 3,flashed a custom ROM with it baked in. You are on xda, obviously, have you done a search there? Try posting for help? I'll try and do some researching today for you.

Where did you install viper from?

Are you using a Lollipop based rom?

I am on XDA but suggestions there have turned up empty as well.

The V4A is from the official thread on XDA.

Yes, on lollipop. Had it running on my Note 4 a d my lgv10. I've had trouble in the past, for whatever reason installing v4a from the official thread. Try the Google play version, maybe that will help.

Just tried the Google Play version and the same result :frowning2:
I'm going to try a custom ROM next. Will report back. Thanks for your help!

Sorry, wish I could be of more help. Custom ROM with it baked in should do the trick. What exactly is going wrong, drivers not installing correctly?

Did you try going into your settings-sound? I forget exactly where it is, but there is a setting in sounds for changing equalizer or something regarding the sound. I have my girls old note 3, going to check that.

Try this:

Let me know if you need help running the script.
