Hey all,

I love my HD 650s with a Music Streamer II and an E9, but I'm futzing around with Ableton Live and need closed cans or IEMs if I'm going to record vocals...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!  Reading great things about the SRH940s on Amazon....one of the reviewers compares them to the HD-800, but then again, he seems to 'not believe in' amps....so...grain of salt.  I have a cheap E9 and even I can tell the difference it makes on my HD-650s...

Currently the srh940 are polarizing headphones, a bit like the k701 (although some people will react, and say that's it not a good comparison,  "because the k701 is junk" ; they don't realize the irony of the situation).
I'd say a  good DAC  is more important with the srh940, I  was convinced by the value of my srh940, only when plugged on my xonar stx.
Now I  wait  for a comprehensive  review from Tyle (at innerfidelity) , who said anyway, that he disliked them.

EDIT: the srh940 are good for detail retrieval on a good source, but might seem too bright depending of the source too.
