Hello, I'm a new poster, long time lurker, and I've been recently looking for a headphones and I've drilled down to a few choices.
(keep in mind these are after deals)
AKG K702
AKG K240 MKII
Sennheiser HD595
Beyerdynamic DT770, DT880 or DT990

I mostly listen to Classical (Orchestra or Symphony band), Jazz, Rock, Dubstep, Classic Rock, Soft Rock, Alt. etc.

I would like a large 3D soundstage and extremely detailed sound like being able to hear echos after a band plays.

Thank You!

Sounds like the K702 to me.

Doesn't always work with Rock when stock, but can be easily modded to a much better all-rounder, only sacrificing the smallest amount of detail and soundstage.

70X or DT880

DT880 would be the better all rounder, K702 the soundstage and detail specialist (at this price point). Again, as I said, you can easily and reversibly mod the K70* to be a much warmer, groovier affair suited to a wider bandwidth of genres but still with a great sound stage - its very tunable - don't have time to explain it here and now but search for "K701 Friend or Foe" and you should find it.

My favorite of the bunch is the K702, but you'll need a moderately beefy amplifier to get the best out of them.  The DT880s would perform better with a lower power amp, but if you're going completely sans amp, I'd lean towards the HD595s.

For the genres you listed, I would recommend the K701/2, as long as you plan to properly amp them and provide them with a good source.  The bass will be a tad light for dubstep, but it should still be enjoyable. The K701 excels with the rest of those.  The soundstage is amazing.

What kind of gear are you using to plug the headphones into? That would give us a way better idea on what headphone to recommend.  If you have sufficient gear I'd recommend an HD600 too.  Also even if you don't have a relatively powerful amp I'd still recommend the HD600's over the HD595's because they are in an entirely different league.  I've owned both and would never even think to even pick up another HD595 after hearing the HD600.
