I need a new set of cans in the $200 range for production of Hip-Hop, Rock (sometimes), and EDM and I want the best bang for my buck. I would mostly be using the cans at home but sometimes in public.
 
Which ones would you guys recommend for me?

I own the HD380 and MS1i and the MS1i is much better. But isn't HD380 much cheaper than SR225? They should be.
Neither is suitable for public use imo. Unless you want to disturb other people with your music. Even though the HD380 is closed, it leaks sound almost like an open phone, i was actually surprised about how much sound they leak.
 
I use the HD 25 II in public. They isolate like no other and sound better than the HD380, plus they are compact and very durable.
You could also look into the SRH750DJ's, they have very nice thumping and detailed bass which should work well with your music.
I wouldn't recommend them for public use though, because even though they isolate almost as good as the HD 25, they feel very flimsy and it would seem they would be easily damaged.
