Did I say that?
I don't think so…further more, don't tell me were I can/can't be.

I always found the ps500 had a nice mid bass emphasis great for reproducing bass notes from classic instruments. For the lower frequency 'synthesized' type bass I never found it that great.
Both PS500/1000 really detail bass instruments, especially a deep cello; you can hear the buzz of the string even. So good! *drooool* And the best part is that there is no compromise on the higher frequencies (violins/flutes/brass). Sounds really pure and moreso justified!
Exactly the words I was searching for to describe my 500. "Buzz" is the buzzword for bass strings.
My 500 gives me 85% of the 1000 for 1/3 the cost. And it's a lot lighter and more comfy. Very important.
Have you tried the G-cush on the PS500? If anyone has, impressions?
I have. Terrible with 500. It waters down the bass too much and puts me too far back from the performers. I need to crank the volume with them, which is not good for my types of music.
That is unfortunate, I guess the upgrade from PS500 to PS1000 is another clear example of the law of diminishing returns.
Very true, but I think my 500 gets me 85% of the 1000 SQ, at 1/3 price. Plus I think it's way more comfy than 1000, lighter.
True, the PS1000's are pretty heavy, they need to come up with a better headband for that thing.
I thought you could adjust tension on the band, by bending it outwards.
Maestro, I think if the 500's get you to where you want to be they are a great hp. But if you desire that last n'th degree of resolution, and have the gear and source material to do them justice, IMO the PS1K's are well worth it. After comparing them against my RS1's, driven with kvtaco17's Glenn OTL amp and some hi-res FLAC files at our last hp meet in MPLS, to me the PS1K's sounded really great. As always just my $0.02.Very true, but I think my 500 gets me 85% of the 1000 SQ, at 1/3 price. Plus I think it's way more comfy than 1000, lighter.
