I've modded my MS400s to take in a 2.5mm mono jack on each cup and I bought some cheapo gummy earbuds to rip up and solder on 2.5 mono ends, but the cable still feels really small and I'm willing to bet it's going to break soon.  I'm looking for any replaceable cable that's meant for portable use.  The ends don't really matter because I'm planning on cutting them off anyways :p  Unless they are already 2.5mm, then that'd be amazing.

The SA1 cable looks good, can anyone confirm that it's thick and suitable for heavy portable use?

I'm also looking at the TF 10 cable

If there's anything cheaper that's just as good please list it :)  Even a headphone/earphone under $25 with a great cable will suit my purposes.

SA1 cables really aren't that impressive up close. If you're set on an IEM cord, I'd get one of the cheap-o Meelec buds (e.g. M2). You can even get one with mic if you have a smartphone. Also, I quite like entry-level Koss cables. They may not be pretty to look at but they're pretty sturdy. People like to recable KSC75s so you may even be able to get one on the forum.
