  I've been looking for some new headphones for producing (Drum & Bass, Complextro Electro House, Dubstep, etc) at home. I'm in a situation where I have to be quiet most of the time, so I can't get monitors. I've been looking at AIAIAI TMA-1 Studio, which I believe are made for electronic music, and heard that they sound great, but lack on the high-end, and some said bass as well. I've also looked at Audio Technica M50, but heard that it also has a lacking (some said nonexistent) bass. My current headphones are 40$ Plantronics GameCom 377, but I'm fairly sure I can get something much better. I need something flat, that can still sound beautiful.
 
  Anything that you recommend for at most 250$ that can deliver a nice powerful bass that isn't overpowering if given to it?

Have you considered Beyerdynamic DT880? I find them to have a nicely balanced presentation and are very comfortable for extended listening. Many producers use them. There should be plenty of info on these headphones in this forum.

I've looked into it now, and they seem to be much better than the things I've looked into before. Now I feel like I have it between the DT770 and DT880.

DT770 has better isolation and more bass, DT880 has a more 'neutral' presentation to my ears. Keep in mind the different impedance ratings that both headphones have. 770's are available in 80ohm and 250ohm, 880's in 32ohm, 250ohm, 600ohm.

+1 for the 770s. The 770 Pro comes in 80 and 250 ohm, as has been mentioned. The 770 Premium has been discontinued but you can still find them. They come in 32, 250 and 600 ohm just like the 880 and 990. All of these headphones sound best with an amp.

Are the mids and highs still good on the DT770? If so, I'll probably get that. I'll likely be amazed no matter what if it's better than these 40 dollar ones.
 
Edit: Found them on guitar center for 200$, I'll see if I can find a good amp for around 50$.

They'll make your previous headphones sound like feces stuck to a headband.
 
The 770s have slightly recessed mids, strong bass, and bright highs (somewhat of a V-shaped FR curve). As was previously mentioned, the 880s would be slightly more neutral in this regard but the 770s will have a bit more bass impact so for the genres you mentioned I would choose the 770s.

Used Beyer DT770 Pro 250-Ohm can be found on amazon for $155
New for $175.
 
But these headphones need a decent headphone amplifier to sound their best.
 
On eBay, they sell the SMSL SAP-100 headphone amplifier for $65

Would the Fiio E6 be good with these?

While I think the E6 serves its purpose well (highly portable), you probably want something with a bit more power to drive the Beyer's. From my experience they can be difficult to drive properly. I have an Audio GD NFB5 which drives my 600ohm DT880's with ease. Look into the Audio GD range, I have a couple of their DAC's/Amps that I'm very happy with. The NFB 16 might be a good place to start.

My Fiio E11 drives my DT770 Pro 250-Ohm, with the Fiio E11's volume knob at 85%.
So i think your out of luck with the E6.

I'm very confident that you will absolutely love them. Its really hard not to, especially with electronic music IMO. BTW, are you going for the 250 ohm version or the 80 ohm ?

I'm not exactly sure the difference, but I think the 250 ohm is better if I'm using it with an amp?

I have DT880 250ohm and I can run it pretty loud even off my phone (with volume maxed). So I assume 80 ohm will be really easy to drive.
