Hi I am thinking of getting a good amplifier for my k702's, my PA2v2 makes a small difference, so I wonder what a step up will do? I need a good amp! It can be any form factor, I don't care, as long as it make the k702's sound better!

Thanks a lot,

P.S. I already have BlueDragon v.3 cable!

P.P.S. I was thinking the Fiio E9?

I'm somewhat amused that you got an expensive cable before an amp, but no matter. I guess the Fiio E9 should do the trick. That amp sure is popular...although considering the price, I suppose it's no surprise. You might also consider the HiFiMan EF2 or a Bravo Audio amp.

I used to power the K702 through my Zero DAC's headphones out and it did a decent job.  You can get it used for around 100, i even see it goes as low as 80 sometimes. You can use it as headphones amp for now and later as a stand alone DAC, mine still does a great job after almost 2 years

I'm pretty sure the OP is looking for a desktop amp since A) the K702 are demanding in terms of amplification, and the portable amps that can drive them are well above $150 and B) you'd have to be nucking futs to use the K702s in a portable setting. The E11 looks like a nice amp and all, but I highly doubt it has the power to drive K702s any better than a PA2V2.
E9, EF2, and the Zero are much more suitable for the K702s and other inefficient headphones. I read a bit about Bravo Audio and maybe you shouldn't consider it after all.

I've paired the K-70x the Millet Starving Student Hybrid Tube (MSSHT) amp with surprisingly good results. I'd put a "Wanted" ad in the Sales Forum as they're not too tough to find.
